Default Cheap RC

I'm looking for an offroad RC car (not kit) for less than 70-100 dollars. Is this realistic and if so, where can i find it?

oh, and i'd like it electric which should make it cheaper...right?

Not realistic. You can get something for that price but it wont be offroad worthy.

Yeah i didn't find any off roaders for that cheap, that's why i posted here, like a last ditch effort. I did however find something interesting, it's a 1/18th scale porsche Carrera GT. Says it goes 10mph. Is this a good deal or should i keep looking?

The only quality rc that you will be able to find parts for in the 100 dollar price range is a team losi mini-t or a team losi micro-t. The micro is smaller than your hand, the mini-t is 1/18th scale and runs for 99 bucks RTR of ebay. If you decide to get a mini-t upgrade to a 6 cell battery pack before anything else.

For that cheap you will have to look at one of the Chinese Rip-offs. Something like the Haiboxing Bonzer or perhaps the Speedy Cobra. Have a look around the forum... there are a couple of threads about them.

Just keep in mind... you do get what you pay for.

We're so lucky to be part of this hobby this day and age fast fowarding to 2020. So much for under $100 these days. When I think cheap, I think HoSpeed 18302. Wow.

For that price as others have suggested you'll probably be looking at something Chinese. Have a look on www.banggood.com to get some ideas in your price range. There are a few off-road products there that get quite good reviews. You could also look at some of the smaller scale RTR products such as 1/24 scale. Whatever you choose though, don't set your expectations too high, it will only be something basic.

You can get a 1/18 scale chinese truck for under 100

You can get a nice proper truck on the used market-like offerup. Guys dump 600-800 into a truck and sell for 200-250

For 250-300 you can find something good. Cheaper ones are Chinese and not very good.

That's a big generalization that isn't particularly accurate. The HS 18302 is $35-40 ready to run and it hasn't let me down. HBX 16889 is a brushless for about $85-90 right now and it's my favorite of the bunch. Packs a good punch, can do wheelies on a Li-Po, doesn't overheat. The only question really is about parts availaility which both these have.
