I am running the hardned ring and pinion from the .18ss it seemed like the ring gear was different then the original evo ring gear but i bolted it up and have ran over 10 tanks with no problems there are two little bumps on the stock gear that center the side gears inside the diff. The new hardned one didnt have them but it fit and has not given me any problems if you switch to the hardned u will understand what i am saying when you take it apart!!! The hardned gears are to the right you can see the tabs i am talking about on the stock gear to the left!!!

thanks, i shimmed the big gear yesterday and will run over the weekend and see if that helps, even though they were slipping the teeth werent that bad so i put a shim to move it closer to the pinion and the mesh feels alot tighter.

I had a problem with the front diff gears on my 3 Evo RTR sedan that was related to a missing ball bearing on the output shaft. You may want to check your diff to ensure there are two ball bearings otherwise the shaft will wobble and ruin the gears quickly like mine did.

ok, i ran the car and got a 1/4 tank of fuel before they stripped again, i ordered the hardned steel ones so hopefully that will solve the problems, the mechanic at the lhs cant figure it out either, all bearing are there and good, dont understand but the hard steel ones should take care of this, expensive but worth it if it works!!!!!
