Hey, im looking for a good fast charger that will vharge my 7.2 (or 4) v stick packs, does anybody know of a good one?

looking to get --> http://modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunctio...n&ItemID=12425 . How long would it take to charge my 3200 7.2 volt and my 2200 one? (if it even will charge them) because im not very good with the maths on mah. And does it look like its a simple plug into wall and plub into batt and away it charges?? ta, really need a fast charger because my starter box eats batterys.

After a bit of googling on the model number it seems as if it's only suitable for 1400-1600mah capacity batteries. This is probably due to the 30min timer and a max charge rate of 2.3A.

you do realize that if you charge the batteries much faster than that you will ruin them in short order, right?

if you want a charger that will really charge them quickly you'll have to spend some serous cash

that would do the 2200 in 15 minutes and the 3300 in about 20 or so
of course it will kill them quicker that way

a good charger - not cheap like you list or as nice as the ice but something between

it says that it will do 2-3A fast charge. so if you take your 2200mAh battery and charge it at 2.2 amps, it would take 1 hour. (1A=1000mA) i don't know if that is a "good" charger, i've never heard of it. it is a simple plug and go charger. i think you should look around some more though, maybe check out a local hobby shop. you can probably get a better charger with more control for not too much more than you'd be spending on that one. look for something that you can adjust. to charge the batteries you listed quickly, you'd need a higher rated charger. the 3300mAh one would charge in 30 minutes at a charge rate of 6.6A, or 15 minutes at a rate of 9.9 amps. most chargers don't go more than 10 amps. (i say most since there are some that do, but they get expensive). for the 2200mAh, 30 minute charge would need 4.4 A and 15 minute charge would be 6.6 A.

<<edit>> the charge rate doesn't necessarily kill the battery, the heat does. faster charge does generate more heat, so excessive charge rates and excessive heat buildup will shorten the battery life. to say that it will ruin a battery in "short order" isn't really a fair statement. people quick charge batteries all the time and they last for years. if you constantly charge at a very high rate and don't let the battery cool, then you will adversely effect the battery's life.
