ok I been looking at the upgrade parts for the rxt-1....got a question for Eddie and decided to post it here instead of emailing him..maybe he will only have to answer it once..

here it is...part # rxb-011 is an ackerman plate...looks to be billet aluim...am I correct?..I do know its a rxb-1 part # but am sure they use the same part..lol

I think this would be a welcome addition to both my rxt and rxb....I'm kicking the idea of doing the same thing that I did to the rxb and that is go for billet towers and trading the center and rear dogbones in favor of the cv shafts....

You got it Randy, they do share alot of the same components. The ackerman plate should work perfect with the 2 of them.

A couple questions...

On the radio with EPA, what is ST.D/R? Is it a rate adjustment to limit how quickly the servo will move regardless of sudden control moves?

I installed an failsafe. Does it have to be reset each time the electronics are turned off and on?

Do the upgraded brakes mpo-08 and 09 work with the RXT? I may try the double disk setup that one of you (Adam? Rich?) did, but I like the upgrade that I put on the MXB also.

Should the built in fuel filter (the one in the tank, not the one in the fuel line) be pretty hard to blow through? I guess I expected it to be pretty "open," but a good bit of resistance may be normal.

I took it all the way to the chassis and put it all back together loctite-ing, adjusting and checking as I went. Yesterday it was sunny all day, and again this morning. Now I am ready and... IT'S RAINING!!![:@] Oh well. There's always tomorrow. Oh wait, IT'S MONDAY!!![:@][:@][:@][:@] I may have to skip work!

I have to say I really like the way this truggy is put together. Can't wait to get it on the road.

EPA controls how much to the left and right the wheels move not how fast

Once you set the failsafe up, it should keep the memory but always check to be sure, just put the car on with out the transmitter and see if the brakes get applied.

I dont think the upgrade brakes for the megap's will work but the dual disc setup adam did would work great and be cheaper.

There will be some resistance, double check the inline filter, cant hurt to see if something is cloggint it, you never know.

TAKE OFF AND PLAY BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eddie,

The radio has a left and right EPA for steering, a high and low EPA for throttle and another labeled "ST.D/R". What is that one?

Thanks,

BK

Hmmmmm, I have mine on spektrum so I dont have the stock anymore but as far as i know, all my radio's with that DR is for how much throw the servo gives, epa is the end point adjustments, how far the servo will go in each direction.

I'm thinking that adjustment will throw ur throttle all the way open with just barely touching the trigger if its turned to the max...I have my rxt-1 on a jr xs3 and currently not using the stock..I will mess with it and let ya know though

Who knows if these guys are right, but they saying the Steering D/R is essentially an EPA that adjusts both ends at once. Makes sense.

I'm still searching to find more info. My wife says I am obsessive. [:'(] I say I just like to know stuff. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

Me too. If you set the EPAs to get the right amount of max steering (without any binding or anything) and equal in both directions, then having an adjustment that allows you to quickly "scale" your max steering on both sides evenly, that would make sense.

Do you loctite the big nuts that hold on the wheels?

Oh, and it is worth mentioning that the wheels and tires come unvented. I vented the wheels on mine. *edit - I was wrong - I had not noticed it, but the wheels did come vented*

That's funny. I guess you have fast wheels!

FYI - anyone that has the SH28 "M28-P3" here is a link to the SH web site with exploded views and such

Don't ask why I cared whether or not this was true, but the HSN is the same on the SH18 with the rotary carb and the SH28 with the slide carb. So should you need one for your RXT for some reason, and happen to have say an old Volcano/Viper sitting around, you can swipe it for the RXT.

Picked up a Futaba 3PM 2.4GHz radio for the RXT today! Guy was selling it new in the box for $120. Said he bought it, saw something he liked better at another LHS, then could not return it since it was electronics. Seems like an unlikely story, but he had the recipt, so it seems legit, and it works perfectly.
