whats the difference between the pull and none pull, obvious one you pull like a lawnmower, I know that but user friendlyiness,,, advantages disadvantages,,, money is one costlyier than another,,, i am new to the hobby so i wanted to know thanks

I HATTTEEEEEE pull starts. I think the fact that any RC's today come with them is a joke!! Automatic starters are where it's at. Traxxas has the best setup with the EZstart, although it adds more weight so it's no good for racing. Associated and Losi both make RC's that use a glow plug warmer and a starter gun. You can get a starter box that you set your car on top of to spin the motor and start it. If your car comes with a pull start Tiger Drive makes a starter drive unit you can put on the motor in place of the pull start to start it with a drill. As far as I can see their is absolutely NO advantage to a pull start.

My preference would be pull start as I don't like the idea of having to charge more batteries and carry more equipment just to start the engine, also the worry of the rotor start batteries running out. Fair enough sometimes the pull start string may snap but that's fixed with some spare lighting string and if you don't pull to long then they should last awhile anyway. So for me the pull start seems more practical.

I personally hate pull start, I had trouble starting a buggy one day and ended up with a blister on my finger.

Wear gloves! lol I guess it just comes down to personal preference at the end of the day that's probably why car manufacturers still make cars with both pull start and rotor start.

Pullstarts are the way to go.Most people dislike pullstarts becaues they dont know how to use them.If you pull it like a lawnmower,then they will stay broke.Every now and then you have to replace the cord,but with tips like using nylon braided brickmasons line,its not that often.Rotostarts have gears that strip quite often.Some manufacturers suggest NOT using a rotostart on a new or high compression motor because the gears in the rotostart will strip.I had tons of trouble with it on my Savage.I have never heard a warning against a pullstart.Also,who wants to have to carry around that starter?My RC bag is heavy enough without having to carry around that batteryfilled drill-starter,not to mention the price of the battery for the starter.Pullstarts are more convinient,quicker,cheaper and more durable.When your vehicle stalls in the middle of a session,would you rather run out there with a ignighter and be gone or have to grab that bulky drillstart and run out there with that.I have been using the same pullstart for 17 months now on a CEN Nemesis,one of the most high compression engines in the industry.A roto-start will NEVER last that long without breaking.Traxxas EZstarts are a joke.They work good for a little while,but require constant attention to be affective,the wire breaks or come loose,so much that most Traxxas owners choose to use a glow-ignighter because the EZstart doesnt do its job,so there you have to carry a glowstick and a drillstarter.Figure out what youre going to use your vehicle for and where youre going to be running it.In the places I run my truck,I would be a fool to use anything other than a pullstart.Just because Barber420 hates pullstarts doesnt mean thats the popular opinion[:'(][>:].There will be several who beg to differ.So you can see,there ARE ADVANTAGES to a pullstart.To say that any RC that comes with a pullstart is a joke,is a joke within itself[:@]
