The radio comes with a battery pack but I would think if you had a holder and the right plug you could use rechargeable AA. I do not know why you would want to.

The receiver will handle a 2 cell lipo pack but most likely the servos will not, they would be very fast and powerfull for a short time tho.

Yes I can understand more voltage on the RX to help with the servos but with all the high torque servos they have now is not really necessary. I have been running 2.4 GHz for over a year now and will NEVER go back. First the Spektrum and now the React. Do you have your system yet?

Nope, don't have my new radio yet. I'm doing some research before I buy my radio so I don't get burned like I did last time. So far the Nomadio React or the Futaba Fasst look good to me. The software update capability is definitely a big plus on the Nomadio side.

OTOH, while I don't care about the servos going out in a blaze of glory, I do care about my runaway car doing the same. So perhaps it would be a good idea to use the voltage regulator from the start. Next question would be, do those small $30 voltage regulators made for LiPo packs put out a lot of heat themselves like a resistor, or are they some kind of more efficient design.

I understand as I spent about a month and a half trying to decide which radio I was going with. I all so talked to many at the tracks. In the end the React had more features then any radio out there.

I went ahead and ordered the Nomadio React from carolinasrc.com. It should be here by Wednesday. I heard that I will have to replace the stock battery pack. Also, what kind of charge lead does the stock pack have. Is it the same as other packs?

I got a different battery pack but mine is only 2500 which is a whole lot better then the 800 that comes with the radio.
That is the some place I got mine but at the time all they had was the 2500 but they have great price as I know I paid around $15 shipped. [X(]

I'm excited about this new radio. I have been researching over a month and finally decided on the React. It came down between the React and the new Airtronics MX-3 FHSS (backordered). I like quality equipment, but I also like to stand out in a crowd. There is only one other guy at our track who uses the React. It had rained for 47 straight days here in Austin, Texas, so I had plenty of time to decide on which radio to buy. I also bought a lot of new extras for my TTR ST-1 during the time off. Two engines (LRP Z.28 and Axial .28RR), Nomadio React, Super-Brain charger, and the new Hobbico CS-170 servo (330 oz. torque). It is going to be on!!!!

BOY you are lucky as we are 30 inches behind in rain and the past 3 weeks 3 digit temperatures with no relief in site! It has been so hot I have not raced since August 4th and only raced then, as it was round 7 of the Georgia Championship Series. Miserable day racing that day even the AC pit trailer would not get under 90!!!!!!! Unless it cools off the only race I will do is September 1st last round of the GCS!

Sounds like round four of the Georgia Championship Series May 12th which was the only rain we have had all summer then it only rained long enough to make the track a big mess and rain us out.

Try putting some WD40 down the tube first. Did you register it yet and use the coupon to get a free temperature sensor?

The link to the coupon is not working.
Also, what did you use to keep battery from rattling around in case?

I did not use any special tub just the stock one that came with my Hyper 8. I just put a small piece of foam in with the battery to keep it from rattling. You have to use the referral number when registering you radio from the desktop you have to down load. Look on the right where it says RC desktop.

for the most part I have been doing like alot of the guys on the Nomadio forum said. Just wrap the ant inside of the radio box without it coming out of the box. Or just the 1.5 inch of thin ant coming out of the box. Both ways seem to work just fine.

I did not have any real problem getting the Antenna through the pipe not say it was easy. Here is a picture of how mine is on my buggy. The React manual says to make sure the thin piece of the Antenna is our from under the body.

I can not get the radio to "vibrate" when battery is low. It will beep, but not vibrate. I went to settings to change to vibrate, but it still does not shake the radio. Is there something other than setting it on the radio?

Do you have the settings set correctly? You can turn on and off the vibrating function for one or all. Did you look in the manual? Did you check for up dates?

Look on page 79 in the manual.

I solved the problem. I had the vibration off on the controller section. I only looked on TX alert section. I am adjusting to the multitude of functions on this radio.
I'm glad I decided on this radio. It is awesome. It is the lightest radio I have ever used and the built in functions are insane. I'm most pleased with the radios ability to show the voltage on my receiver pack and the built in pit timer. That will be very handy at the track. I will not need a new radio for some time.
Thanks for your help!!

The React worked flawlessly last night at the races. There was no glitching and the response time was super fast. This radio actually made me a better driver and that is not a easy task.
