I also had that pink and black bandit, those were the good ole' days. I used to ramp it going into our old barn where the concrete floor was just a little taller than the driveway...good time.

RE: Tyco Fast Traxx
I didn't get to read this thread from the beginning but read some interesting things about the Fast Traxx. So I am doing a final project for my electronics class at school and was going to use my old Fast Traxx as the base for the project. I found it in the original box in the garage and charged the battery to find it works as new. For the project I would end up hacking the car from it's original condition. I was looking for info about the motors and it seems this is a rare and desired r/c car. Is this car really worth something to others that I should not hack it up for my project and go buy some cheap other r/c from toys'r'us or somewhere? I haven't hacked up the Fast Traxx yet and need to buy something else by tomorrow if it is worth sparing the life of the Fast Traxx.

Thanks I looked around a bit and found out maybe I should keep it alive. I went to Walmart and bought some cheap $25 r/c truck instead to hack apart.

I know this might be a longshot but do you still have the tyco tantrum car and would you be willing to sell it? I'm looking for another one of these for a school project. Please advise, thanks. Anton.

RE: Tyco Fast Traxx
i remember back in the day, i'm 25 now, but back when i was maybe 10-12, i had a fast traxx truck and my dad had the turbo bandit. i still have his turbo bandit, but it needs work. the low gear, which is the one you could do wheelies on, sounds stripped.. but the high gear, damn is that little truck fast!!!. the battery door has a broken hinge, and part of the front suspension is broken, but what a fun truck that was.. to open it up on a parking lot and listen to it take off.. those were the days...

RE: Tyco Fast Traxx
This is a shot in the dark, but I just got a Super Fast Traxx from a Goodwill Store for $5.00, but it doesn't have a tx. I was wondering if anyone has a TX they'd be willing to let go? I tried taking the circuit board out of a Terrain Twister Ihad laying around, but the performance was poor, and I'd kinda like my Terrain Twister back.
Another posibility is maybe I'd upgrade everything to hobby grade. The problem is that Ihave no experience with hobby RC's, and don't know where to start. I'd like to keep the budget low, around $100 if I can, but not sure if that's possible.
Can anyone help, or should I start a new thread, so I don't hi-Jack this one?

I don't know what style of plugs the internals have, but if they're the regular plugs you could just buy a cheap AM radio (it'd be better than the stock one anyhow) and hook that up to it. Should work fine.

RE: Tyco Fast Traxx
How would I do that? Where would I even start? I have no knowledge or RC's, and a little experience with soldering/ small electronic engineering. (I took it in Vo-Tech for 3 years back in High School 10 years ago.)

Should just be plug n play. Take the body/shell off of the Fast Traxx and find the receiver. It'll probably be a boxy shape and it will have the antenna attatched to it. Take it out. Put the receiver from the new radio in and plug the servos/electronics into the new Rx. Put 'er all back together and you should be good to go.

RE: Tyco Fast Traxx
There are no plugs, everything is soldered in. Ican take pictures of it when I go home this weekend. The Fast Traxx has only 2 drive motors, one for the left wheel and one for the right one, there are no steering servos or anything. Whats a good radio to get?

I have one of the old turbo bandits and have lost the remote over the years. I would like to find a new remote so my son can play with it now that he has figured out how to control an rc car. Does any one know how to get on or have an extra they would be willing to part with?

My first R/C was Tyco "Bandit with heads up driver". The drivers head would turn in the direction of the buggy. It may of not been hobby grade but it was fun as hell!!

RE: Tyco Fast Traxx
Hi all,
Glad that somebody started a discussion about this super car. I have a Super Fast Traxx but I am looking for parts. I saw that on Tyco website, there are no service parts for sale such as batteries or caterpillars/endless tracks.
I want caterpillars/endless tracks for my Super Fast Traxx, do you know from where can I buy them?
Thank you!
Best regards,
Alex
