OK not a total noob but it has been close to two decades since I flew gliders and then I only flew trainers. I am looking into getting back into it and am interested in the possibility of a combat glider as my first one. I also like the thought of getting into the combat scene once I get some skills back.
The plane I would really like to build and fly is the Gentle Lady but it is out of stock everywhere I look now. So, would a combat glider be a good first glider? Which one?
Thanks

PP,
Are you referring to a slop-soarer? Except out on the west coast, most combat is done with powered models, either .15 or .25 size.
SSC (.15-size) would be the best class for a beginner. It's the easiest and most economical to get into. And I'll bet you'll think it's way more fun than anything else you've done in RC!

I am looking for a slope soarer first off. Who knows once I get back flying RC I could very easily see me getting into arial combat of all sorts. Right now just want a simple glider, any slope soarer suggestions?

A Zagi will make a good slope soarer and combat plane. I don't know if much combat is held at the Point of the Mountain. I put on 2 contests for open b and scale 2610 each year just north of you in the Layton area.

Both the Zagis shown below are good flyers. Which you choose depends on how good the lift is at the sites you fly.

Enjoy!
