best electric drift car???

any chassis is good especially in drifting. its more about driving than anything. i ran a tt01 and finished third in my local points series.

If you have not already Shoved a Ball Bearing kit into it and an alloy propshaft , that should be on your priority list.
After that , a set of Oil filled shocks... then its just a matter of looking at Gearing....

i reckon shocks and ball bearings are the most import parts
don't forget to lock up the rear diff to make the rear a little more happy
you don't need a expensive car to drift and thats what so good about drift
you don't need the best to do well
MUST
plastic or pvc tyres
locked rear diff
Not really a MUST but close
Ball bearings
Alloy shaft

I beg to differ.
I don't drift with a LOCKED rear differential, and I'm actually pretty good, not to be cocky.
I'm using rubbers, and never drifted with pvc. Just seems to slidy for me.
Hehe, thanks magnat!

rawfuls.. You would have to drift with a rear diff or you would have a front wheel drive...
I think what you mean is you don't need a Locked Diff to drift and I concur... I have a TT-01 and I can slide without locking the rear diff.. the rear diff locking is personal preference rather then essential...
I do disagree with Tofubox and have to say that the Alloy propshaft and Ball bearings are more of a priority then a locked rear diff...
Alloy Propshaft allows more power to be transfered to the front Diff more efficiently as energy is not wasted on flexing...
(just try putting a 19x2T on a Plastic propshaft and watch the propshaft shake itself apart)
Ball Bearings are needed to reduce rolling resistance which in turn makes it easier for the motor to push the car along...
(In a short period of time less then 80 hours, the stock plastic bushes will heat up and seize leaving your car motionless)
Although a Stock TT-01 will drift, it DOES need to have a poly type Tyre wether it is ABS,PVC or Type A HPI Drift Tyres...

depends on the surface your sliding
and how much control you want
i have found that yokomo drift tyres are great on road....will pvc on road will cause alot of spinning
but in day a smoothjer car park yokomo will grip to much unless you have a powerful motor
while the pvc slides nicely
a locker in the rear will help you keep those long slides
you can slide without a locker but her personal preferrence
i use dual locks in my xray

Yokomos are the best. They are specificly made for drifting AKA drift kits and package. Others like sprints and cyclones, ect. are racing cars and then people try their best to make them drift. Ive had a cyclone and sprint 2, they arnt bad cars to drift, but The only difference between a regular sprint 2 and sprint 2 drift are tires and a body. not to mention rims. Also, the HPI Pro-D is another great drifter. Some say its better than yokomos. Some say its alright. Im gonna buy one myself and see. My friend has been doin all kind of rc stuff for bout 25 years and him and i have found out secrets to drift set ups especially yokomos. We dont tell all of the secrets, but we tell enough. So if u need some tips let me know. More about Pro-D later

If you want to race... then I would look at a Cyclone S and keep your TT-01 for drift.. If you have locked the diff... then it is going to be a dog at racing...

Well as a balance, look at turning it into a Stock Racer..
Go a 27T Epic Tagged Armature like a Team Fantom motor, then you can enter in the stock Class races...
Your TT-01 would need some Suspension upgrades but I can't see why It couldn't Be a Drift/Racer...
Me and my mates do Street racing..
Here is a Vid...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHWtZd8jzJA Drag race
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPnWF5cTjYc Street race...
(Besides my Mates Sprint 2 looking fast.. my TT-01 did win the Drag race lol)
I also Grip flipped my Skyline lol
(Street racing is sorta like Class racing except without the fussy rules of Shell Type and Tyre recommendations and of course, we make the track where we can We do however have a limit on Batt Capacity and Motors)

How does the Losi xxxs do for drifting? I have one and since it's no longer real competitive in TC racing I thought I would make a drifter out of it.. What body..what Tires..so many questions..haha
