And here they are. Maybe a tad too thick, but if they were any thinner they would end up difficult to work with, and too flimsy. I like them just as they are now

Looks great.. Is the 2-speed really for sale now, or has it only been announced?
Also, is there a differene with the Ford version other than the body? Here the Citroen version can be had for €199, but the Ford costs €350.
Also, what's the deal with tires? Is it easy to run 17mm buggy rims and tires?

Thanks a lot!
Yes, the 2-speed is for sale at the Norwegian/Swedish Kyosho site, so i guess any Kyosho dealer will have this for sale then or be able to get it for you.
The Ford comes with the new 2,4 ghz-radiosystem, that is the only thing i can think of that hikes up the price on the car.
It exists adapters to run 1/8-scale wheels for this car, but i think 1/8-wheels they will look a bit too large for it. But if you run some tires from Inferno GT which has the smallest outside diameter on tires i have seen in the 1/8th class it will look decent i think. They are 97 mm compared to the 93 mm on the stock DRX-tires.

Cool. I've just ordered a new 1/8 buggy, so won't be getting one of these anytime soon.. I'd be very keen though to see a video of one with a 2-speed..
I really should've gotten a DRX instead of my Ofna DM-1.. ZERO parts support, and there are DRX parts all over German ebay - for cheap..

It is only one colour But the stickers were hard to do, but it looks good enough in my eyes.
Herr; i was originally going to get the DRX in the first place, but instead i bought and (re)built [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10174051/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm]this[/link] car instead about a year ago. Still got it, but i am trying to sell it, but something holds me back a little.

Finally got my car! I thought until the day i got it that the headlights was stickers, but they are not, and they are LED-ready So i will put some lights in these soon, and also in the rear lights.
The guy in my hobby shop was so nice that he was willing to trade the nitro engine for a 1/8th brushless combo, so i will go down to the shop again tomorrow so he get the nitro engine in return after i have taken it out of the chassi. If that wasn't enough, he also gave me almost 50% off on the rims, tires and foams! So i will soon start the conversion now, and also to make some 17 mm adapters for the Landmax-wheels.

Nice project. I have one of the 1/8 scale Landmax's with the Lancia body. Also has the two-speed. Definitely one of the coolest looking rally cars around.

That should be no problem. The stock tires for the DRX fits right on the Landmax rims, so if you get in contact with a Kyosho dealer i am sure they will get a set of rims for you, just as my hobbyshop did.
I have been admiring your Stratos a bit for a while, i think it looks very cool in blue

Made some 19 mm (all the time i thought it was 17 mm) wheel adapters yesterday. They might not be beautiful, but i guess they are functional Some pics of the chopped up and modified radiobox aswell.

Had to make some battery holders, so here is what i came up with I am pretty satisfied with them. Bought some velcro strips to keep them in place nice and firm, and added some self adhesive window seals from rubber to make it a bit softer for the battery, and also to keep them in place so they don't slide back and forth.

Found out my new drill press could be used as a mill "the redneck way" (until i get a cross table for it), so then i had to make a nice little esc mount for my car. I made a groove under it so i can put a reusable cable tie around it and the esc to easily remove it.
I also made a splash guard in front of the esc so the water don't enters too easy, but still have some cooling around it.

RE: Kyosho DRX Lancia Stratos
Finally after some cutting, drilling, tapping, filing, "dremeling", sanding and many other words i don't know, i got the motor mount done! I am pretty pleased with it, and the way i solved the challenge of making it adjustable for different sized pinions in an easy way. Maybe not a beauty, but will still do what it is designed for.
The little slot i have filed out on the bottom is to get it close to the diff mount marked with a red arrow in the chassi picture. This allows me to put a screw through the mount (the countersunk hole) to secure it to the diff mount and into the hole where the brake pads used to be.

RE: Kyosho DRX Lancia Stratos
It was an impressive slop in the steering and the wheel hubs, so this had to be fixed. Which would be totally unneccessary if Kyosho had made the parts with the right tolerances at first! There is no excuse making this sloppy parts for an rc-car nowadays. Sometimes i wonder how Kyosho has won so many championships, but i guess they didn't won them with sloppy parts.
That aside, here is what i did; i took off the hubs, finding the bore in the hub for the large inner bearing to be the sloppy part. I then took a centrepunch and worked my way around the boring for the bearing, making the plastic expand. Then i filled it with glue, which when harden will fill the gap between the bearing and the hub. Installed the bearing, and away and gone was all the slop.
[link=http://s753.photobucket.com/albums/xx171/Heimelaga/?action=view¤t=HPIM2759.mp4]Here[/link] is a little "before-video" i made prior to the fix, i will post the after one later. I forgot to set the camera to macro so it is not the sharpest view, but you can still hear the slop through that mysterious sound the camera makes. That "ticking" sound is mostly from the ball links in fact.

So here is how i fixed the steering and its exessive play, i simply replaced it all with Traxxas ball links. Now it is totally free of slop and play, and very nice and tight. The stock links that followed the car isn't even worth keeping. Too bad.

And the modifications continues... Have got a new radiobox which originally is for DBX VE, but fits nice on the DRX too. I think it got a bit cleaner with this one. It also strucked my mind that i should have had some exhaust pipes, so i made some in my lathe out of nylon bolt.
I was lucky to get 6 more wheels aswell, i tried to order directly from Kyosho America where i found them but they wouldn't ship abroad. So i got my dear cousin who is studying in the states to order them and ship them to me. Thank you, Børge The 4 wheels i have left i am thinking of getiing some Road Rage-tires for as they are a bit smaller and made more for asphalt than gravel. I think they will look good.

RE: Kyosho DRX Lancia Stratos
Got some new tires for it (the Fiesta, Pro Line Road Rage) which i intended to use with the yellow rims on the Stratos. They wouldn't fit on those rims, but they fit well on the rims made for the DRX just for your info. So there i was without any rims to put them on, i wanted to try the HPI 100868-rims and they fit very well! They build 2 mm more outward to the wheel arc than the stock ones, so they fill the arches very nicely. The diameter of the wheels are a bit smaller than on the stock ones, but they don't look too lumpy as i think the stock one does.
