hi ian
after a few months off from hosting out truck meets (the big shows were on)
we are having another one this weekend then both mine and the better halfs
are off to a friends who custom builds and mods trucks for some work doing
the rest of the rc stuff i have ok okish the bug brute still hasnt been fixed
i should do it but i hate taking it to bits just to get inside it to many screws
the team magic g4 black magic should be going on ebay soon
i have just bought a 1/18th radio controlled eddie stobart truck
for a eddie stobart charity event we are attending next year
the bycmo has been put away in the loft for a while
but i have been thinking about it a lot
and what you said about a 4 wheel drive bycmo
im in two minds weather to do the same and then make a truck shell
out of plasticard
i have also taken the saw to the very first truck i got a hua peng 1/14 truck
its a kids toy i got it when i wanting to try trucks
i didnt want to go out and get a tamiya truck at £200~£300 if it wasnt what i wanted
i cut the sleeper cab off and made it a day cab then put a transporter bed on the back

as for christmas its going to be a mad [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]one i think the better half
went on overdrive and got way way to many "toys" for the kids

how about you your bycmo's have said they need a rest and the rush says i need a run

Good one, I know you enjoy your trucks.
Will it be a shame to sell the nitro? .. I know you haven't used it much for a while.
4x4 bycmo - see who does it first haha
I know you modify these trucks a lot from a kids toy into fully function models.
The Rush.....I have no excuse now due to converting the garage into a small workshop with strip lights and a vice, grinder and workbench.
Will probably get it going and think 'that wasn't so hard'

I bet you are looking forwards to a truck meet.
Saw a programme just on Eddie Stobart the other night, very interesting and they even do logistics for a formula 1 team.

You realise it's nearly a year since joining....looks like it's only us on here that need to discuss bycmos

The Tamiya esc we both have (me and boy) is meant to take no more than 23 turn, I fitted home made heat sinks. Thought I put the pics on here with the modified heat sinks?

Probably didn't must have forgot.

It cut out after about 5mins with the thermal cut out, added my heatsinks and it just goes goes and keeps going till battery dies

Are his motors good? what sort of price?
PS, still having probs getting on here, if any admin or anyone reads this post.

hi ian
i havent seen his crawler motor if full action
he told me at the meet that his f350
had 8lbs on the front and 8lbs on the back the
tyres were flat to the floor and it still pulled the
f350 like it had no weight on it at all
i have asked him about a lower turn motor
just waiting for his reply

yes i have seen the pics of the heat sinks
but i just couldnt be bothered to trawl through the
posts untill i found them

Yes, cos stuff like crawlers have a higher turn motor for torque. like 32t for example.

hi ian
in a nasty was you could always teach your son how to charge the batteries
then blame him for over charging it and then say you broke it you pay for it
and stop his pocket money and buy a new battery
[sm=lol.gif]

have a look at

Looks good that ebay link for 4 of them.

I couldn't take his pocket money should teach him how to charge them though, this is what happened-

He only had about 10 mins use and we took it home, now I gave it about 15mins and it was fine so I gave it another 15mins, came back to check and the pack was hot.....bugger,
Tried it out and it died after about 10mins use.
Cos you can do that with the NI-MH can't you? not like the old NI-CAD type. You can top them up with a small charge.

hi ian
oops not good
well look at it this way we all have to learn one way [sm=lol.gif]
but its how you learn that makes the difference
i guess you took the expensive way [sm=lol.gif] [sm=lol.gif]
having said that you could use it to your advantage
use it to get more battries that way you can have longer play time

I'll get him a pack as an extra present, he knows it was my fault anyway.

There is another standard one in good condition on ebay.

hi ian
i had seen that car
i would say it shouldnt make more than £30
as it seems that they just arent selling for lots at the moment
i did like the bit where it said they are ideal to get into rc cars
i thought no there not as everyone was complaining about them breaking
but then i thought at the time of release they were a very good way to get into rc cars
as you could learn how to make and build cars and fix them if they broke
i just hope whoever ends up with it knows how to fix them and work with them

hi ian
if you were to win that car i would keep it as it is
my friend said with the msc it will take what ever
turned motor you wanted to put in it
but the esc can only go so far before its broke

I must have been very unlucky as went through about 4 msc, the Tamiya esc has been great, as you know these are on both our cars.
Wouldn't buy that on dus mate as ours are modded a bit now and none of those parts would be any good.
We had a lot of trouble with the msc's over heating and one even burnt out with smoke and that
Has yours never been a problem then?
The esc's we got have got a thermal cut out to protect it
21turn motor and the esc seem to bea good combination.

Good idea mate.
I realy enjoy doing the body shells too, gives you good satisfaction doing a shell and it turns out well

Happy Christmas dus, what you got planned?
We (family) don't live right near each other so hoping this snow isn't going to mess our Christmas up, hoping to all meet up here.
