Kongs can support an e-maxx and savage on water, I'm sure a smaller tire could support the pede.

yes! I soldered my first deans plug today. It took 20 minutes and looks a little rough, but I did it. I did the connecter for the charger. 1 down, 5 to go!

I can solder anything easily but deans give me a bit of trouble, dont ask me why. Did you snip the end of your charger leads and solder on a deans? I made a short tamiya to deans plug, so I dont void my chargers warranty and so I can use my packs with deans in a vehicle with tamiya plugs if I ever need to. We gotta start posting more, this thread is dying again.

I have this charger, so the jig just plugs into the little black and red output. I snipped the tamiya plug off of the 2 wires and put the deans on there. Its just a plug with 2 wires sticking out the back. the charger has clamps that clamp the wires. lol I wont let this thread die

Does anyone know anything about the new Mamba Monster Max systems that are coming out? Even Castle's site doesnt say much about them yet. I have my Mamba 7700 in my pede now but wouldn't mind taking it out and putting it back in my TT-01. then just get something bigger and better for the truck. I'm sure there going to be kick ass.

Going back to Deans for a second, I have found that the key to soldering them successfully lies in two things: tin both the connector and the wire ends first, and plug in a mating connector while doing the solder job(one that has no leads soldered onto it--we don't want any short circuits here). The pre-tinning makes the solder connection melt together almost instantly, and plugging in a mating connector keeps the prongs from getting misaligned and making them hard to fit together in case the connector gets too much heat during soldering.

Back on Stampede specific discussions, I was thinking last week of fabricating a wheelie bar for my pede. I did some scrounging around my father's shop for scraps of aircraft metal or anything workable and could not find a big enough piece. The prices I was quoted for 1/8" 6061 stock were ridiculous for the amount I need, so I gave up and started browsing ebay. I ordered a 1/8" machine stamped wheelie bar from a seller who had 100% positive feedback(can't remember the user's ID now, I think it was "rcwheeliebars"). The specs and pictures looked pretty good--I'll post again when I get it installed on the truck.

What tires you suggest fo use on pressed snow and mud? Stock XL-5 tires not so good on that surface. They just spin and don't have enough traction

the pede isn't exactly a rock crawler...but if you put some softer springs on it i suppose it may help if u try to crawl.

[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUM93&P=ML]Masher 2k's[/link] or [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLDK4&P=M]Moab's.[/link]

Moabs make a great rock crawler tire if you want to do more than upgrade your suspension riley.

I just want a goood traction in this winter. Yesterday i toot part in race and found out that stock tires not so good. Many competitors use tires with little pins such as [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFNF9&P=ML]this[/link] Do you think Mashers will be better in snowy race track or not?

I just got some associated diff balls for the spur gear. How many balls are you putting in the spur gear if you have them?

Put in all 12.

interspace, if you want good traction in the snow, something you might want to consider are snow chains. I made some with 6 lengths of chain going across the tire, but I found that the chain kinda bunches up on one side of the tire, so I slide when I'm on the side without chains going across it. So this year, I made chains with 15 lengths of chain going across the tire, and I'll see how those work. If you're curious, I used #14 chain for the lengths of chain going across the tire, and #16 brass plated chain for the chains that hug the side of the tire. I have Pro-Line Masher 2000 tires, and I used 16 links of the #16 chain to go around the rim, and 15 sets of 6 links each of the #14 chain going across the tire. I used #16 chain last year for the links going across the tire, but I found they weren't much of an affect, so I used one size up this year. I also use two different colors of chain, that way its easier to tell which part of the chains are what when you make them/take them off of the tire because then they will look like one big mess of tangled chain. Also, I do live in CenCal, and it snows here once every 15 years. If you're wondering, I go up to the Reno/Lake Tahoe area to use the chains.

Pictures of the chains on my 'Pede:

Ok, I'm gonna need a wheelie bar soon. Has anyone found one that they like besides the swami-rc bar? I'm thinking of making my own, or strengthening the esp one.

Make your own from some scrap, mines a piece of bent aluminum held on by the transmission screws, no wheels or anything since I couldnt care less if it bends or gets scratched.
