yeh thats not good at all. what was your charging rate and how long was it on for? you either way overcharged it/charged on way to high of a rate, your charger is fried, or it was a bad battery.

and you can just get the original battery hold down. it will be cheapest. oh and fuse, you said it was able to pull a wheelie and all when you first got it? that being said, chances are it was charged already unless you ran it untill it didnt have good power. that being said, you probably did overcharge it and blow a cell

first the charger is a duratrax piranah
second the highes i can go with it plugged into the wall is 3 amps
i had it on nimh, 2.5 amps, 7mv/c, 4200 mah
it was on the charger about an hour maybe more maybe less.
um i ran the battery until it started to feel a little less in power and then i stopped. it was mostly a test.

could it also be because it was a little tight on the sides in my chassis?

i think you over charged it... what kind of piranah. there are like 10 different styles... i would set it up to charge normal. but instead of running the full 3A since that battery should take up to 4A fine. run it on 1A the first charge and just charge it really slow. does your charger not have auto shutoff?

i think it was really the battery because i have done this same charge method with my other batts and they worked fine for months.
i dont know. i am just going to return it and get a new one. i dont know if i should get the same battery or try a different one.
also would my chassis squeezing the battery be a problem?

umm. i wouldnt think it would cause a problem. but it depends on how tight it was. if you had to force the battery into the cahssis, then yes thats a problem. i have personally had great success with my DTX packs. but they are both stick and not Side by side. the stick fits into the chassis perfectly. i would try to trade in and get the stick pack. also, do you have any rocks or twigs or anything in the chassis, because one might have pierced one of the cells...

nope no twigs or rocks. and it wasnt like i was standing on the truck to get it in lol. it was a gentle push and it was in. yea i might try to get a stick pack. i might have to wait a little while till they get it in though.
i also like the stick packs configuration a little better. my brother has some off name brand one and it has been running strong all its life lol it has pretty much no writting accept for 4200 mah 7.2v nimh thats it.

i personally love my sticks. might have been the pack itself. were your other packs 4200 or higher in mAh? because 4200 is pushing the limits of these cells, so when you overcharge them they seem to go pretty fast. maybe you should look into the DTX 3800 packs instead?

i personally did all of my nimh packs at 1A for the first charge. does yours not have an auto cuttoff? if it does have an auto and you blew the pack by overcharging, then its your charger, or else its the pack. do you have any other batteries you could put on there. just some cheapo old one?

yea well i just charged my 7 cell the other day but it charged to 4200. i dont know if it is the charger or not. the directions dont say anything about a cuttoff. but the battery didnt charge all the way. the one that started hissing right now only charged to 3800. around there
