RE: vintage rc official old school thread
Hey guys. I have a few Vintage cars my self but not on hand right now. I would like to find the electric to gas kit that was made by Duratrax I belive for the first gen rc10t. Any tips as of where to find one would be awsome. I also have a blackfoot, a monster bettle and a subaru brat all by tamiya. Thanks and keep the vintage alive.

RE: vintage rc official old school thread
This is a great thread, I love the old RC10 gold pan and the RC10T's! I got my first RC10 when I was about 12 years old. One of my friends got sick of wrecking his and sold it to me for ten bucks. This was in the mid-late 80's. I had a lot of fun with that thing...I had NO idea what I was doing either; the differential nut had stripped so I drilled holes into the diff hubs and ran a paperclip through them to make it one "solid" piece. The MSC mystified me so what I would do is directly wire the motor to the battery and hope for the best with my steering skills. I completely destroyed that thing. Since then, I've gotten a quite a few buggys and 10t parts off ebay and the like...junkyard full of spare parts. Ended up selling most of my chassis's for the gold buggys but kept one. This past month I ended up building a single RC10 buggy out of the spare parts left over and three rc10T's (which I need to paint bodies for). I'll take some pictures and upload them soon.

I don't think I do, I had to buy a set of idler gears at hobbytown to finish the tranny in my buggy. Funny thing too, I was just out in my shop working on replacing the rear hubs when I looked in the floor for an eclip I dropped, and saw one of the differential thrust washers on the carpet. Looks like I get to tear the tranny down yet again.

It saddensme ,but i might have to sell my first RC car. The Associated RC10 Championship edition. right now its been completely converted to sue modern size wheels and tires. got a 12T motor,a nd duratrax 12T PRo esc. Its also got full radio gear, a servo from a Futaba 2PH, and the Futaba 2PH its self. The thing is its also being sold with 100% of its origional parts (from the MSc to the origional associated 27T motor) , so it can be easily converted back to its origional state. Ive even got the absolute origional tires. there worn down, but considering the cars 14 years old, it shows how little use its got. It also comes with the origional body, and a viper body, and wing.
Now advertising it, but how much do yall think i could sell it for?

Wow, no idea. But you should post pics.
Is it clean? Clean and shine it up real nice, take lots of good solid pics, and it should do rather well on eBay. No battery, but ESC, motor, and radio means you should get a decent amount. Probably not as much as it means to you, but still more than all the other RC10s selling. $140? No idea.
If you do list it, use the eBay "bold" feature or something to make it stand out (along with great pics). So many RC10s are selling out there, you gotta get yours to stand out!

OK it seems like I can only upload 1 pic at a time for some reason.... Hope all 3 pics work.
SG/TAG Coyote, Tamiya Grasshopper, sum1 tell me what this is? It says Koyosho on the MSC.
As you can see I got the box for an RC10, I have a Fox box too, but I haven't gotten
the Fox or the RC10 yet... he says they're around somewhere.
Coyote uses 3 cells on each side; unusual.

RE: vintage rc official old school thread
I raced the Associated 12I when they first came out in the mid 80s.
1/12 scale, no suspension. I dont recall 1/10 scale been available. Certainly not in NZ at that time. Everyone was racing the 12I.
Electronic speed controllers were fairly new, but too expensive for me.
Car was $200NZD at the time. Quite pricey. Now cheaper plastic designs or very expensive TRF etc $1000NZD + for the car without body, motor or speed controller. Thats serious racing.
Also raced the 1/10 electric Tamiya Frog when it was first released.
Good times.
