completely gone. haha. just a hole in the lever and and empty hole on the shock. don't know how but its an easy fix..

okay. esc and reciever work.. guess the esc just restarted itself or something but the motors are dead.. the brushes.. well to be honest they aren't there anymore. [sm=tongue_smile.gif]. probably caused a surge of current and shut the esc off..

i was thinking brushless.. one of those 2600ammo brushless. they do super well in e-savages and better than Feigaos.

all of its going to have to wait. got bills and rent to pay first.

well home for break and took apart the TXT for inspection.. as i thought originally. it was the motors and o boy was it a big one..

the bearing in the back somehow heated up adn melted its surrounding and jamed the bearing and shaft. while it was melting the armutare must have wobbled a bit and slamed into one of the magnets because there is noticeable chip on the corner of one of the magnets. dust and fragments all over the insides of the motor. the transmission was completely locked up because of this.

going back to stock motors for now. no more money for new motors after christmas shopping

Mind: 2nd TXT.. LOL!!

ArildS: You need to start building, man!!! Now you got ALL the hop-ups already!! I want to see those crazy paddle tires in action!!
I have those MAXX size paddle tires sitting around lol. I'ma try to find the tranny to the TXT tomorrow so I can run it, I can't run the paddles yet being they are for the savage rims and they have 17mm hexes.

no no no... everythings fine. the trannys still in perfect conditions. its just one of the motor bearings was melted.... completely rebuilding the motors. comm cut, brushes resoldering the wires. etc.

I'm now pre-soldering all leads, caps and connectors for my holiday project.

Just how long leads should I use between the ESC and the motors in the TXT-1?
How long should the leads between the batteries and the ESC be? I use two 6-cell stick packs in series with the dual ESC you recommended.

If you take the absolute minimum, and add 3-4cm I'd be happy. I'd like to run the leads along the chassis struts if possible.

I'm using deans all around

I'd just leave the maximum length on the ESC.. so just get rid of the plugs and put on Deans, without cutting any wires...

Then when you build the wiring harness on the motor side, you can just add enough to reach it.. it really depends on how you route the wires, so it is hard for me to say how long you'd need.. the best way?! Put it on the chassis and then you will know exactly how much you need!!

Oh, didnt know that...so the tranny might very well be bullet proof..
I'm not running anything in my TXT but mild mod motors and
maybe a dual stock brushed motor combination.
It's gonna be a while because im un-employed...[:@]

the trannys is built SOLID... this is my 4th rebuild and the gears look exactly the same as the first day it came in the mail.

OK, I guess it's a bit hard to guesstimate how I will run my leads. I just have to bring my soldering rig to my in laws for the holidays (that's where the TXT will be born).

Do you run 7.2V or more? 16.8V like LB? How will the tranny hold up at double voltage?

Or to put it another way. Should I stock up on tranny parts since I intend to run 14.4V with S600 motors, and maybe S4 lipo later?

Hm. TamiyaUSA has very few replacement wear parts for the TXT. A second kit for spares?

I see Tower has the spares.

Which are the parts I'll need?

A-parts http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUR35&P=Z
B-parts http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUR36&P=Z
Gear bag http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUR39&P=Z
Bevel gears http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNM34&P=Z
Pinion http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUR49&P=Z

Is the pinion 48 pitch btw?

I would NOT worry about buying a 2nd kit for spare! The tranny will hold up w/ 14.4V / 16.8V just fine....

I broke an universal and a drivegear (in the axle) when I was running 16.8V on pavement during my "endurance test".. ha! Pulling wheelie one after another.. I would say you probably wouldn't want to do that too much..

TXT doesn't belong on pavement anyway! It should be out there punishing the off-road!!

Is it just me or does the bevel gears for the TXT look EXACTLY the same as the bevel gears for the TL01?

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...0P?&I=TAMC5602
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNM34&P=Z

I'm asking because I happen to have some unused spares for the TL01 chassis.

No need chaecking. I just spring the box and compared. The gears have the same diameter, but are a different pitch.

Hm. I really love this set (even in NIB form) so I think I maybe have to get one anyway. As with the DI I would like to be able to drive this RC for many years to come

With your extender, maybe it would put more pressure on the axle-C (the axle case).. maybe get a couple of those as spares?!

And maybe some REVO shafts?? Or RC4WD stuff?! And drive-gear... you will be all set w/ TXT!

well my camera doesnt seem to want to work... Ill get the pics up tomorrow... but I am thinking about getting another TXT (or possibly a Clod, but a TXT would look more scale for what I am doing)...

and the plan would be to make an Oshkosh Oil Field type truck... heres a picture of a scale model of what I mean:

However the picture that originally inspired me to do this had only one rear axle....

what do you think?

I think it would be an awesome to do a 6x6 based on TXT axles!! I say go for it!!

You'd need to modify the middle axle to have a pass through shaft to transfer the power to the 3rd axle.. similar to a Tamiya semi...
