Novak has a gearing chart on their website. I run Polyquest lipos and am VERY happy. rclipos.com supplied my 2s 5000mah ones for 99 each.

Here's a quick vid of my son's E-Maxx. All stock except for upgraded axles. The 7-cell batteries kept twisting the stock plastic axles off. The front end is all broken up but I have aluminum parts for it. First day out with the new Bronco body. My son picked out the colors, I did the hard part

Look for Feigao Motors. I have owned quite a few and they have not dissapointed me yet. You will need an XL for the E-Maxx. Or two L's would be very cool, but you will need two esc's.

I've figured out i'm going to go with monster maxx and either a 2200 kv 540 xl or a 2800 kv xl and here are the specs. 2200 kv Idle Current: 2.6A
Resistance: .0146
Max Amp: 55A

2800 kv Idle Current: 5.3A
Resistance: .0042
Max Amp: 110A

Finally got her all back together. The tranny is upgraded with metal gears from Dan at Kershaw.
So here is the rundown.
E-Maxx 3906
Kershaw Dual 970's
Novak Super Duty XR with Novak cooling fan kit.
Fastlane Aluminum Chassis
RPM suspension all around
Proline wheels
Losi Zombie Maxx tires
Wheelie bar
E-bay CVD's from Taiwan, they are cheap and very nice by the way. Perfect fit and very strong.
Integy aluminum shocks with adjustment nuts
Spektrum DX3.0 radio
JR Z8550 steering servo
4800mah Lipos from cheapbatterypacks.com

And of course another problem. For some reason it is not going into reverse. I will reprogram it and see what happens. But for now I am glad it is running in forward.

Yes those are the stock bulkheads. I have never broke one, but if I do I will upgrade them.

Trust me you dont want te 7xl. It runns way to hot!!!!!!!(mine got over 200 degrees in about 5 to 6 mins no matter how I geared). I would get the 9xl as (around 1900kv) its seems to run also cooler and still will hall some butt. I had the 9xl in a e-lst2 and it ran like a champ and never had heat issues(it weighed in at 13.2 pounds)

If you can wait for about another month castle will have there neu motor clones out. 4 pole motor are much better than the 2 pole ones in a mt

Alright guys. I've been contacting Traxxas customer support regarding my problem and no resolution so far. I also mentioned to them that after a run, my motors and batteries are really hot. I can't even hold them in my hand. They told me to switch to better batteries and get a smaller pinion gear. I'm running twin 4200 venom packs (6 cell). Also, what size pinion gear should I run and where do I get it?

I have heard LOTS of bad stuff about Venom products.
Count the teeth on one of your pinions and order two pinions that have one less tooth count. Just do a search on the internet or your local hobby shop.

ok most would say imposible but not really I have a new 16.8v emaxx with integy bulkheads and rpm arms that have been cut and modified to fit my losi lst shocks . All I can say is that this truck now rides real sweet. Still running the stock motors . Oh I did try something I put a older two speed tranny in it and it fits . had to make some custom drives for it . oh and Im running cvd's on all four corners .
I have the axial 40 series beadlocks on but I dont like them for they are just way to heavy. gonna get me a set of the revo like crime fighters .
Well if you would like more pics Ill see if I can get some more . My cam got broke thanks to my 8yr old droping it while he was packing our gear up from last weekends race.
Oh Emaxx 1st and 2nd over the esavage. in the electric class
and then my sons esavage got 3rd in the young guns class.
i had the wrong gearing for pulling so I didnt do as well as I would have liked and my batts were low on juice.
Oh well we have this weekend coming up!
7cities race way in va bch , va

One use the hpi savage converson two Dremel the heck out of your arms!!!!! I can honestly say I thought that it would weaken them but boy was i wrong !! I have hit some major air with the truck and NO problems yet knock on old woody!!
I can suggest to switch to integy or acnc bulkheads they are much beefier than the stock and will not alow the flex stress that you get out of the stock ones . Oh and I am working on a set of alum arms for the truck that would be custom cut just for the shocks , with multiple shock positions .

The one thing I am leaning towards is going brushless . I am running stock motors and have been playing around with spurs and pins trying to see what is the best combo. This is being I took a old tranny from first generation emaxx and put it in the truck for haveing two gears . I like haveing the low high . let me tell you guys IT DOES FIT ! But bear this I have blow two diffs with the truck in low gear pulling our sled ! So I have gone and bought like four or five extra diffs to drop in just for emergencys and then fix the bad ones.

Now I just need to figure out how to lock the diffs so there is NO LIMITED SLIP. I want both tires to pull equally . anyone have a full step by step on this one .

again guys this was a idea that is not all that hard since we do it on the savages ."LST Shocks Conversion"

Take care all

BigBrett,
Traxxas sells a spindle that locks the rear diff, I am sure you could use it for the front also.
