Default Tamiya F-150 question

Does anyone know what I would do if I wanted to widen the wheelbase of this thing? basically I want to (just for the hell of it) stick some 2.2 crawling style wheels on it, but still use the stock body. The body will be raised a bit of course, but currently its totally scale and the wheels are inside the wells - so I'd have to extend the axles or hubs. Any ideas?

Something like that, and some offset rims should do the trick. Someone makes some plastic axle extensions that are cheaper, but I can't locate them right now.

Yeah, the one from rc4wd like 83gt listed, or a similar one from JunFac.. (www.junfac.com) They make a couple of them.. different style.. the cheaper one is $27 or so.. you also see them at eBay..

I put some old 2.2 wheels and tires on mine a while back. It handles much better and doesn't flip anywhere near as often. Not scale but fun. Pic below.

I once saw a widened one using twin detonator suspension arms and driveshafts. Looks pretty sweet if you ask me. PM me if you're interested, I could help you out.

Ya it is, plus you dont have to worry about the added strain and wear wideners cause, and you will get more suspension travel.
