RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Its funny how we mix imperial and metric units. Temperature is always in F, though. I see you had some heat doing that run, the ESC fan is running in the photo.
I was looking at the HPI site today and there are three savages, MT2, Firestorm and two RS4 nitro models and way more electric models and counting. Kind of sad for me...

Nitro Rob what Motor are you using cause mine always runs above 130 21/87 even in extreme heat like today "100f here today in NY" its a Ballastic 8.5T motor seems to be good quailty. What I'm asking about 1/8 scale which I can't seem to figure out is how to run 4's,I have 7 2S now all in pair's and 2 9.9V LiFe batteries on the same motor/esc combo with out melting something. Its on this Truggy http://casterracingusa.com/product.p...4&cat=1&page=1 I'm thinking of Just winging it and getting the CC MMM 2200kv motor V3.

I am running the 10.5T motor, 4200kv. IT gets hot pretty quickly. What about your timing? I am running the castle under 'normal', +10 degree advancement.

Nitro 4200kv 10T is awfully low ,I would think it would be really hard on the battery's. Id only run 3's on 4200k if I were you should bring the motor temp's down gear to match. You know what I think 19/87 seems about right .

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
110F is a nice temperature, what do you mean by overheating?
In reply to your previous post I am running 3s with 4200kv. I thought about higher kv but likely wouldn't go over 5000 since I am already getting tight with temperatures.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I'm getting thermals at 110F on the novak when i put the MM5700 in I'm hitting 150F in the same rig. All I can figure is that with 3S you have to get 17/87 or lower. OHH I can put 2S in at 23/87 and get lower temps than 3s with 17/87 which is weird maybe something is wrong with the differential.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
My problem with wires on ESC is sorted.
I didnt have to cut wires off the on/off switch at all.
Just some precision soldiering and all as was before.
But now the ESC is on the leash as I have drilled holes in chassis to tie is with strap.
It will not move any more in its life!! And will not cut them anymore...
Whanks for advice.

Nitro - I got the turnbuckles and ese ballends on ebay for 26 shipped.
Paron- My motor kinda felt like that so I tore it apart. there was some fine dust in it but, nothing major. It wouldn't hurt to check it out.
And a better pic of the Storm all clean

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I think you have to gear down when going from 2s to 3s and not the other way around. You get more power and RPM from the higher voltage which creates more heat. There is less heat per horsepower because voltage is higher but there is a lot more power so there is still more heat overall.
The truck looks great Darkside. I want those turnbuckles. Who was the seller and what size did you end up getting?

Good idea. I think I have a blown differential coming soon, it felt gritty last time out and veered hard left under power for a while.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Nitro- thanks. Here is a link he has 3 sets left [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-HPI-BLITZ-ESE-Turnbuckles-Titanium-HZE31-/140422671086?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b1d7eaee]ESE Turnbuckles[/link]
I was fine using the shorter turnbuckles in the rear because I have the RPM rear bearing carriers (they are shaped like the stock blitz ones and have a hole to move the ball stud in closer) Which is the stock position on the blitz. Hope that makes sense. If you look at the pic of the RPM of blitz rear carries you will see what I mean

3Racing makes titanium turnbuckles that are an affordable upgrade. I upgraded my SC10 with these and was impressed with the results (looks and durability).

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
yes they make them but, I heard something bad about them and I don't remember what it was....I am on my 3rd set of output shafts, 2nd set of axles and dog bones (the 1st set dog bones looks fine I just thought what the heck). If you try the CVDs give us a report
