More people got their lipos....ahhhhh. Still waiting. I have e-mailed them and hope to get something figured out soon. My experience with hobby king has been not so good. We will see how this turns out before I pass judgment. My buddy in Berkley ordered lipos and got them in 2 weeks flat Just a little bad luck I guess.

I think I am going to stepup with the Havoc 3s and a good 3s lipo. Should have bought Rob's

I went out today with the road rage tires and it got up to 140 in ten minutes and kept climbing to 155 so I shut it down. I am going back to the 19T and shouldn't compare gearing to 2s setups with 3s - gearing should be shorter with the higher voltage.
The road rage tires don't grip as well off the line as the dirt works (or any off road tire except the dirt paws). The truck usually spins the tires instead and even does so at speed when pegging the throttle. Their strength is lateral traction and for drift control.

The crawler king is tempting. Do you think they are going to discontinue that truck and are dumping stock? I am looking for something for my boys and the price is right.
EDIT - I was clearing out the inbox and got the email as well as an email for a promotional code that I could use for my first order. I ordered the crawler, bought some other goodies for a buddy to get it over 150 to use the $20 promotional discount and got a tower membership. My sons first RC!

Awsome he will love it, the only complaint I have heard is the location of the servo sucks. But you can buy or fab a plate to mount it to the front axle. I see they still want $230 for jeep body one seems odd to discount the one so much and not the other.

You should have! No duties at the border and max three days shipping. I got a good price for it, though, so I can't complain.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I was just reading about the servo mount issue and see the mounts are 10-15 dollars. People say good things about them in forums in general. This is for a four year old so his expectations will be pretty low anyways. Its compatible with savage bodies and I already have batteries so all is well. I wonder what would happen if I put my eFS brushless setup in it (completely joking)?

I wonder if Tower has too many of the defender versions around and people are mostly buying the jeep version. The Rubicon body is pretty hot right now and I can see there being a preference.
Going out with the 19t pinion and road rage tires in a few minutes. Lets see what happens with temperature tonight.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
OK I found out what was wrong !!! YAY it was the fan on the motor heat sink was dragging out more voltage and acting like a second motor to the esc. So I took off the fan and just using it as a heatsink atm. Ok so my nephew hooked up my MM 5700 to his Rustler today and with a 40c 2S was getting similar speed's to me running 30c 3S he did have slightly higher gearing. I'd say they were both reaching about 40ish +. BTW Red yours on 2's was acting similar to mine on 3S not sure what the heck is up with it with lots 19/87 gearing.

Glad to hear you have that issue fixed, Keep tinkering and you may get what your looking for but most likely you will countinue to tweak and never really get what you what (seems to be the nature of the sport)

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
87/19 gearing and road rage tires last night. I drove it as hard and fast as I could and it reached 155 after ten minutes. It dropped to 125-140 with sensible and realistic driving. I would guess it to be in the high 30 to low 40 mph range. It looks like the off road pinion to use would be 16t which kills the top end.
The temperature-gearing-terrain aspect of electric is a read drawback, it limits where I will take the truck. Then again, noise limits where I drive a nitro but I appreciate not having to change the gearing and having the same speed capability on any terrain.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I will try to borrow a 2s and see what its like although thats another battery to buy. If it works, though......
I just fixed the savage and am going for a nitro bash tonight. It has a great new engine in it that completely screams that I have only enjoyed for a few tanks before breaking an a-arm.
