I'm impressed with this GT-2 radio. I've always gone to a Futaba when I wanted to upgrade my radio and felt it was worth the money. The last radio I owned was a 3PK with more options than I could use...it was in the $300 dollar range.

Check out this video...
http://www.youtube.com/user/Ultimate.../6/BHV2OhN43Lo
This is a step up from the GT-2 and is a 3 channel radio. He says it's approx. $35 bucks and this is the kicker....recievers are $8 each!

I am moving my RC workspace. So far I am gonna use a 4ft table with a single 4ft florescent light above it . I am thinking of doing peg board on the wall behind it and mounting a power strip near the bench top for easy charging. What are some essentials to your work areas? This place is full of ideas let me hear them. Thanks in advance.

Man that this is pretty nice. I currently use a chunk of a 4x4 post it works really well actually. I with only 4ft of space I feel spoiled by my old table, it was 6 1/2 ft! Sounds like I have the basics covered. I will post pics when I finish up. Thanks guys

Cheap for sure. They did a radio shoot out on big squid and my tactic radio gets 200 feet more range then a specktrum radio.

Hi there

Been running the ezrun8.5T with 60a ESC for nearly a year and it's a great system on and off road. Wanting more speed and wheelies so ordered the 5.5t. Am I ok to run default pinion or should I gear down?

Also ordered the proline dirt paws to replace the tired looking dirt works. Need more bite on grass at the park.

Also, which associated springs are best for general on and off road driving?

Finally, what are other bodies are an easy substitute for the dsx2?

Thanks.
I'll answer you only the first question, since ppl here know more about this truck.
It's 2000kv more.Since you bought it for higher speed,I would say you don't have to gear it down.You use a 2s lipo,right?(don't use 3s with 5.5T motor)
Thanks. Yes, using 2S.

I would have just went 3s with the 8.5, would have gave you another 10 mph or more. You should gear the new motor according to temps.
Thanks. Had considered going 3S, but having only recently invested in 4 Zippy 2S lipos, chose not to.

Still keen for input on the Associated springs and substitute DSX2 body.

They really do not have many bodies that are a direct fit.

Its not hard to believe they can make a good quality low cost radio. The wireless technology is pretty standard now and is hard to screw up.

I just read the shootout. I am not surprised what they found with the DX3s range - I find minea little disappointing. Its good with new batteries but drops off dramatically if the voltage drops below 6v. Like they said, though, it has a range that is practical for most purposes (but not a foot more). I couldn't do what that guy did in the URC reviews that were just posted where he had to use zoom to see the radio.

I still love the radio for its comfort, feel and menu options, though, and its never been the cause of an accident or crash. The telemetry is cool, too, although its really only practical to monitor temperatures. I find it more important to monitor temperatures in electric than nitro.

I am finding the thread difficult to follow lately.  Sometimes I can't go on for a day and there are two pages of posts.

I am glad to see all the new members/contributors, though, but sorry if I miss things.

Hey Rob, I searched the thread but couldn't find the link for battery and radio shootout.

Do you have the links at hand?

As I said, I've been selling this GT3B radio system here in Brazil and all customers are very satisfied.
I saw some complains in other forums about the LCD been not bright enough in Sunlight and the 3rd channel button is really in a awkward position. The buttons are also a bit loose, but apart of that and considering the low cost, the FS-GT3B is really an excellent system!
You can't even compare the original HPI radio system with the FlySky, it would be totally unfair.
But I'm chocked to hear about the DX3S short range issue!
I expected it to be perfect in every way.
I was considering getting one in the future for the temperature telemetry, but now I'm not so sure it would be worth the investment...

As much as the range of a Spektrum is low I've never had a problem with it for all my driving and in my opinion the features it offers outweigh the lower range.

Here is the link to shootout 1, the other shootout can be accessed on the left side:
