if i did turn a slayer roller into a 4wd electric, will it break more than the slash would, or is it a tank like the slash?

it will be just as strong, probably a lot stronger actually. I would just get the SC8 and convert, they have a whole conversion now. It is not cheap though.

The Slayer is a Revo with different wheels and body. Watch some of the Revo vids on Youtube and you'll get an idea of what it can stand up to.

just buy an e-revo, add the slayer tires, rims, body and bumpers and you have your self an E-Slayer. I just did a quick overlook of the exploited views and this is all that is different between the two, to convert it. it would not be a 4wd slash however an E-Slayer

Finally got around to making some quick vids of my Slash jumping some ramps in the driveway. The gap was 8 feet long and the apex of the takeoff ramp was two and a half feet high. I ran it with the Velineon system and a 7.4 volt LiPo.

Anybody know what the top speed of a slash with stock gearing (18/86), MM 4600kv combo, and Venom 8.4v 5000Mah battery is?

I've done the calc via everyone's favourite RC Speed Calculator and as you can see the the pic below it should get around 45mph on a fresh pack. I check and it will drop to around high 30s once the pack start to drop to normal operating voltage. Also this is done with stock tires.

It will likely be around 40 mph on a full charge. Those calculators are good for finding unloaded/freewheel maximum speed. But when you factor in internal drag from the transmission/driveline, the weight of the truck, and wind resistance, it brings the motors maximum achievable rpm down quite a bit.

You could run a 5700 but you wouldn't have much choice of gearing. Run a VXL motor and you can gear it higher and run 3S lipo and it won't even sweat.

I think I want a 5700 because I like the top speed on it and my LHS has only 1 MM in stock and it ends up being a 5700. also the speed calculator says 48mph with a Traxxas Slash with a 7 cell

Well guys......I'm out.
I traded my slash for a brushless vendetta ST with a bunch of extra stuff.
I was thinking about buying another corr truck, but I would probably get the SC10 when I get the money.
