RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I am glad I traded though. Honestly, I would be scared to buy an SC10 because if it is less durable than the slash then that is pretty bad because the slash really isnt that tough. The first day I had it I broke the servo saver. I tore up servo gears 3 or 4 more times. The rear bumber ripped out of the motor casing that it is screwed into. I think I broke it alot though because 2wd and 12 foot high jumps dont really go together.....thats why I got 4wd!!

Dang that looks clean. I like it but I have my vendetta...
Hmm.. Ya know, my lhs sold me the slash I had for 150 because I gave them an hpi e firestorm I had that was beat up, and the only extra thing on it was an LRP esc.....
Maybe when this thing comes out, I can keep my integy 1400 battery (provided it will fit) and keep my brushless motor, and put the stock elec. in.... and maybe I can get a good deal outa this thing...
Do you guys think these will be big just like the slash's?

WHEN are they gonna release it already!!?? I see they're saying Late April now. They had said late January back before Christmas. And why does it still say nothing about the 16 scale models on Traxxas' website? Ive already got the hookups on a bl motor and a couple lipo packs to run in the mini Slayer when I finally get one.

The mini's are supposed to be out at the end of this month. I'm not sure if I can post the links where I saw the info since it's on another forum.
I really like the fact they are 4wd but they look a bit harder to work on.
Edit: Supposedly their in the new online catalog on the Traxxas site. I've also read and seen pics of them in the printed catalog. The brushless version is waterproof.

PM me a link then.
PM me a link then.
The mini revo is on page 16 and Slash on 17. From the catalog, it appears to be brushless which is confusing as the Amsoil mini Slash is not.

For some reason or other they grip better. Swear to Pete it works.
Aw sweet! Thanks for the link!
I guess they decided to ditch the Slayer EX name for Slash 4wd?
The new PDF catalog is here. http://www.traxxas.com/support/catalog/trx_catalog.htm

Whoa!, the mini Slash? I didn't know about this little truck. They are gonna sell alot of these. I am quite sure I should go ahead with my original plan to get the regular Slash. After seeing the mini it's got me wondering though.
Is there any chance I'm also not aware of a 2.4 version Slash coming soon?

Edit: I also posted the mini topic in the mini/micro forum in case this discussion was a bit off topic. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8643757/tm.htm

I've done the calc via everyone's favourite RC Speed Calculator and as you can see the the pic below it should get around 45mph on a fresh pack. I check and it will drop to around high 30s once the pack start to drop to normal operating voltage. Also this is done with stock tires.

You are correct they are 1.2v per cell but when fully charges they will peak at around 1.4v per cell. I know this have I have frequetly charged my 7cell 8.4v NiMHs past 8.4v. They won't stay there for real long but they will get there, you will not that I do mention that the speed will drop once the pack gets down to normal operating voltage. When I said normal operating voltage I was referring to the 1.2v per cell.

Buy an ERevo, put Slayer wheels and body on it. Instant 4wd 1/10 Slash.

How tall can the grass be that a stock Slash can run in without stressing the motor. I found a park near me with wide open spaces like football/soccer practice fields.

do you run right from the charger? i think not, it takes me at least 1 min to change batteries. by the time of contact to start up you have lost the .2v. take into account what they are made for 1.2v no more. they may hold more but it is lost quickly once you plug that batt to the esc and hit the power button.

My 6 cells are peaking at 9volts. Is that ok or normal?
lestatsghost - I know that when I put 8 fresh charged NiMHs in my receiver that it read 11.2v on the digital read out. The other reason I chose that is because it offers it in that calculator. I went to the NiMH section for the batteries and the highest voltage per cell offered is 1.4. these are the only thing I'm basing it off. I simply know that I have run NiMHs at more than 1.4v p/cell. Both you and I have mentioned that it won't be for long but it will happen. It will obviously also depend on the application.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
That mini Slash is everything I want in a 1/10 scale RC truck, hands down. I love my Slash, but I would really like to have it 4WD. And that Revo suspension is just too bad ass. I had even pondered the idea of the E-revo parts swap from a slayer idea, but it would be too pricey. I think it is cool that they made this, but why did they make my dream truck in 1/16 and not 1/10![:@]
