Im thinking that maybe there is also play in the steering system pulling the strut up when the servo operates.

Great here. I do need a new .12 and .12 pipe though. I'm eying the JP stock .12, but I'm torn between the .12TZ, EB mods TZ, and the Mega ZX12 which all I've seen in races are pretty fast.

DNicest- Remy says he's not racing this season...sold his mtx4 and kept some gear. He'll be running next yr.

I think it's because he jumped into the racing scene too soon. Busted up the MTX4 he said at prospeed fathers day race an the engine temps jumped to 300+. I personally will try to stick to what I got right now...the R40 and just get the plain TZ and not the EB mods version. My friend is all hyped up bout having the faster motor in his car n all...he says he running laps round the other guys, but I don't see it when he gets there and his name isn't in the A main. Congrats on the bump up to the team though man...now it's my turn to work my way up with the big dogs. Only issue now is work.

I hear you man, you should try and get your friend to race me I guess Remy did not spend enough time preparing himself so he rushed and then stupid stuff happened. 0h well , the hobby is addictive he'll be back[:-] It must suck working sundays knowing that there is a race going on.

D- Definately man. I got a .12 pipe finally and may back the OS .12TZ next week too. I'll be set so far, but just need a setup system. I'm still going to run the 8th though regardless.

The R40 only accepts .12s or .15 small block Rear exhaust engines. NOn pull start only btw. You can use a side exhaust, but need the yokomo GT4 manifold.

D-GL man. Not sure, but I seen some of the Mega ZX12s run and they are about as fast or a bit faster than the .12tz. It's really a tough decision.[&:]

willis, why would you want a centrifigul clutch on it. the centax is soo much easier to tune and its just better.

i have a rear exaust sirio (threaded crank) on the rtr3 rs4, and wanted to know if i could use the engine on the r40, maybe with the same clutch system.

Also wondering:
is the r40 hara balanced out for an aluminum pipe? or could i use a lighter carbon fiber one with out disrupting the wieght distribution?

id assume its balanced for an aluminum and wouldnt have a drastic effect with the CF one. in my original r40 ive got a CF pipe and there are no balancing issues at all. i just put one more c clip on the shocks on the engine side front and back.

CF pipes dont get hot enough. hotter pipes get more pressure into the gas tank for a faster throttle response

You use the same 5 cell hump that a mugen MTX-3 uses. it's sub AAA battery hump pack.
