ORIGINAL: PSXBatou

I have the Tamiya sets

18/19, 20/21, 22/23 & 24/25, you need the high speed spur gear set 55/58 to take the most advantage of either of the higher tooth sets.

Tamiya part numbers, look them up on Tower or whoever you order from
18/19 50355
20/21 50356
22/23 50357
24/25 50477

It is 48 Metric Pitch for any pinion gear, however the robinson ones even if they are 48 metric pitch will eventually rip to shreds any of the Tamiya spur gears. The Tamiya pinions are made of a much softer pliable metal which gives more to the spurs, the robinson ones are made of quality metals that in the end will eat your spur for dinner.

Thanks for the response. I just went and dragged out the assembly guide and looked at the hop-up list and there was the part numbers! Who would have thought to look there? DUH!!

go with 58/23 or 55/25 the latter may be overgeared for that motor though. I am not sure that 58/19 will even mesh correctly.

58/23 is optimal gearing for the TT-01, some would say its the best gearing for it. Run if for a little and let the motor tell you how it feels about your gearing.

Just go back a page. The chassis still looks exactly like that I have to find some balloons to put the ESC, servo, and reciever in.

Do you guys think cutting a small tupperware container to fit over the electronics is too much work? Should I just leave everything exposed? I'm not running in water but lots of fine dirt and sand (baseball diamond). I've heard of people stripping their gears, so how do I stop that?

yeah i've doen the baseball diamand thing. absolutely tore up the gears. got in everything. motor was clogs. even my switch didn't work properly.. I sealed the gearbox with some silicon but some how small bits are still getting in there. just a lot less i really don't get it..there no visible hole i see that the rocks can be getting in from.

lot of the rally conversions i've seen use tubberware shells. shouldn't be to hard to cut. then velcro or ghetto tape it onto the chassis. lol ghetto but works.

I think I'll go get some silicone seal then. I'm planning on either getting a small tupperware shell and fitting it over the electronics, or getting a flat piece of plastic and laying it over the top so dirt can't get onto the electronics and in the gearboxes.
Can dirt still destroy the sealed bearings? Can dirt get in through the bearings and into the diffs?

I don't know where these guys got theirs but RC-mart has no stock yet. I guess the chassis is avaliable so get ready too see lots and lots lots of ppl with carbon tt-01's. I don't know why anyone never had a conversion chassis out sooner. They are gonna sell like crazy I bet...At least for the first while.

I am curious too see if its actually any good.
