Guys I need some help!

What i have:

Tamiya TT-01 with: Yeah Racing full conversion kit, EZRun 5.5T+60A ESC

I'm running my car for racing, but mostly for drifting. My car is getting VERY heavy
and for a drift car, it should be very light .. so what should I do?

I found a 3Racing graphite chassis conversion ..would that help? please let me know guys
you need to ditch all that heavy aluminum, plastic is lighter and more flexible than aluminum, the TT01 is a
starter kit, it's hard to get any more performance out of it, most of those aluminum bits are just extra weight.
All the TT01 needs:
Alloy Prop Shaft
Alloy Prop Shaft Joints
Ball Bearings
Metal Motor Mount
Alloy Bodied Shocks
Steering Turnbuckle Tierod Set
If you want less heat, get a heatsink]
If you bump the walls too much, get Alloy Front Hubs
Also if its not the E version, get the tamiya tt01e d parts, 2 tt01e a parts and you will need 4 850 bearings for the steering too.

Yeah the aluminium is a killer. Looks good though...but that's about it. I recently changed a lot of the parts on my M-05 to aluminium. Crazy heavy now. But at least it looks good lol

hey, question. my car's (tt01) trim and forward running are fine, but when i back up, it turns sharply to the left...
i'm big time confused, so HELP! (not gonna lie, it's done this for the past four years i've had it...)

P.S. i've seen people with disc brakes...are those even functional?
thanks ahead of time.

The disc brakes are not functional, as the TT01 is an electric car, and it uses its motor to brake.
About the turning when reversing, I don't think its because of any problem in your car. Its probably because when you're reversing, and the steering wheels (i.e. the front wheels) are on the opposite side, the car has a natural tendency to be far more sensitive to even slight changes in surface/direction. Also torque steer may come into effect very slightly.

the reverse problem is the slop in the steering being exagerated by reverse as eluded to by TT01.

use for the disc brakes

I was half tempted to do this but the rims I have wouldn't show it the best. I also don't drive at night so it wouldn't look that cool

Looks like the author of that video saw that other LED disk brake kit with the super shallow 12mm hex wells and found it completely unacceptable like I did, and went forward to make his own. It looks like he did a great job as a concept/ proto b/c the whole thing is super beefy on the front face; no wonder 1/2 the wheels didn't fit.

All new TT01E kits (latest releases) now come standard with the carbon reinforced gear set similar to those upgraded gear sets available for the M05 and FF03 i.e. black/grey in colour.

About time hey!

At least they will last a little longer especially when running a BL setup

I unforyunately cannot find a link to this but they are included in the kits!

....actually it is the whole set so the 61T spur and ring that holds the pin in on the spur is also carbon reinforced!

This is really cool and now means that you don't have to get the racing gear set right away....unless you are racing or need the ratio for a particular motor setup. Sadly the pinion gear is still the crappy soft aluminium so will not last long.

Still this is an improvement over the older set and big up to Tamiya for making this change....will surely keep customers coming back

They are totally black/grey in colour. Have a search for the reinforced gears for the M05 and FF03. They look the same colour!

Haven't seen them available seperately as yet but I am sure it will only be a matter of time....

I have seen it in the Mercedes Benz 190E EVOII and as this kit was released prior to the Honda CR-Z I can only assume it is in there as well.

Now all the TT01 needs is adjustable tunrbuckles and camber as standard! Or does that come with the "R"?

That and a better motor mounting mechanism :P

Hello everyone... Im new here. just got a tt01 drift spec a few weeks ago. Couple of days ago i bought a sensored brushless novak 8.5T motor.
And i also had to buy a new pinion gear because i destroyed the thread and i installed one that had 18teeth instead of the 19,
Its ok right? or i should get a 19teeth one?

some other upgrades coming up later....

btw i have a 1:5 on road car for sale... custom stuff the whole thing - no body included- FOR SALE lmk if anyone interested

No mate, the smallest pinion you should install in the TT01 without some modifications is a 19T, and you should be using the 61T spur with that
