Hi Guy's:
I have Real flight version 1 and I would like to know if it will work on windows xp ? Also I have read that you can buy an upgrade CD to go from version 1 to G2. Can this upgrade CD be bought at this last date.
Thanks

I have both versions of real flight ... neither will work on Windows XP.
It gives error with the controller detection.... a lot of my friends have the same problem.

But However , Once it worked perfectly with my brother's computer.

If anyone knows the reason for this please help me out.

G2 is working fine on XP here and at my buddy's place. Both using the USB controller.
I have had some problems with XP and the joystick port... seems you need to go into control panel and select whatever you want as primary controller every time you switch... it won't let you use the RF controller, then joystick, then steering wheel without making the change.

Ditto on the success here. Running RF on laptop with XP pro, no problems, using USB controller.

hi

yes, g2 will work with windows xp. this is what I am using and it installed and is running with no problem. have read where some have had a problem with installation but this seems to be with certain cd-rom having problems with the protection scheme they use to prevent the cd from being copied and not a problem with windows xp.

also I have added add-ons 1, 2 and 3 with no problem

good luck
joe

I have both versions of Realflight, (Gameport and USB), both are running just fine on Windows XP Pro.

Correct. All of the disks except for add-on #4 worked fine in my CD/DVD drive. Addon #4, I had to install from my DVD burner, but when I loaded the program and it asked for the disk to be inserted, it would not let me put it in the DVD burner... I literally had to remap my drives to get the burner onto a drive that it liked.

My buddy had the same problem with one of the other add-on disks under 98... except he had only one CD drive, but it was drive E and RF wanted the CD to be in drive D.

Stupid.
