Hi Dion...As you know I am flying the mini Giles in AFP[X(]. The only change that I have made to the plane is to move the CG back to (minus)-0.2.
Now anyone could fly it to a very high hover[sm=tongue.gif]. Then add left or right aileron. Work the throttle and the plane will back down to the ground while torque rolling. Works equally well rolling in either direction. Add throttle for perfect climbing torque rolls. The only change I would make would be to reduce inertia when flipping with full elevator because it tends to over rotate when the elevator is released. I don't know how to change that but I don't give up easily[sm=idea.gif]. I love this little plane. Obsessed with a little Giles.

ORIGINAL: STLPilot

Rodeo this mini Giles is just awesome! I think I have a new favorite plane for AFP.

So far I added 60 deg on rudder and CG to .5.

Put the rudder propwash at 100.

Voltage per cell 1.5.

Thanks again Rodeo !!! Keep them coming.

If anyone else has some input on this model ... post it here.

Hopefully Maarten will tune in.

I have to agree with everyone here Rodeo. The minis rock! They deprived me from alot of well needed sleep this weekend. Keep them coming I like em alot! I think it'll be awesome if you could do all the OMP planes in minis.

Is it hard too see the small versions when flying? Is there a best field to use to see em better. I still have not been able to download one yet. I think my puter is doing some of the steps....but I do not know what step to do next? Looks like everthing has to be done in a perfect sequence? I will keep reading and trying. Got to be a easy way. The smaller planes are just as easy to see then the big ones because you want to fly them close anyhow. Even far away they are still easy to see.

Also AFP has an autozoom feature.

If anyone wants the Mini Yak just email me. There are a couple of updates needed before posting it, but I can email you the file and the parameter changes.

I can't get the Giles mini to work on AFP. I know it was made for AFPDeluxe. I got the OMP Edgemini, the Shock Flyer and the Yak 55mini to work fine on AFP. I was hoping the Giles would work. I have read here there is a secret to make it work. How do I learn that secret?
Thanks
Ron

When is someone going to give the answer? Life is short you know!!! Why don,t they make these downloads with data that tells where they should go when they are downloaded. It should not be that hard compared to writing the program itself? Thanks Capt,n

All you do is download the whatever.zip file to your desktop.

Then goto the c:\program files\ipacs\aeroflyprodeluxe\aircraft folder.

You will see all the aircraft folders.

Then create a new directory that matches the whatever.tmd file in the zip.

The directory name has to be perfect. If the .tmd is GSYak54.tmd then the folder name has to be GSYak54 and it caps sensitive.

Then drag the contents of the zip into the new folder.

If there is a sound file in the zip it must be place in the sound directory.

That's it!

STLPilot: WOW ! I am impressed to say the least!! I had no idea you could make a how to video and place it here. It must have been kinda time consuming? I got a feeling a lot of RC,ers will use it to get airplanes downloaded. Everyone has a favorite. Thanks you Very Much. Capt,n
