Default Big-List of problems w/G3

Got this list from [link=http://12.156.2.54/forums/showthread.php?t=9373]HERE[/link] I hope they issue some more fixes for this sim soon..


1. Models hit invisible obstruction (usually above trees).
2. Can't size the window in *Window* mode.
3. All of the G3 models I have flown will land themselves (hands off)!
4. Some of the G2 models fly more realistically than the G3s.
5. The Pitts is inclined to roll sharply to the left on T.O.
6. The Pitts will nose over when speed dissipates on virtually any landing.
7. Can't set T.O. position as easily as in G2.
8. Stuttering after T.O even with adequate frame rates.
9. Requires to much computer to run with everything turned on/up.
10. Taylorcraft (Add-On4) will not fly inverted - Not enough down elevator.
11. Multiplayer Mode (not online) will not save settings. Each time I access multiplayer I have to get rid of the ^%$#& Nextar trainer and re-select the aircraft I was flying in the previous session.
12. Can't use the G3 conbtroller with G2USB! or vice versa. Since I use both, I have 2 controllers on my desk *and* a transmitter that I have to switch between the G2 and G3 controllers Cumbersome!
13. Can't plug transmitterr directly into USB bus (with a dongle). I should be able to use my transmitter without the G3 (G2) controller.

Peefiftyone fan:
14. Screen resolution needs to be fixed every time I launch the program.
15. All the planes seem harder to fly than in reality.
16. I still get sound stuttering problems (on 2 different PC's).
17. AnistophicFiltering slider (1-16) has no effect on image quality
18. Selecting aircraft is very slooooow (confirmed on 2 fast PC's)
19. Very hard to fly the p-51 inverted seems like not enough elevator to control easily.
20. SplitScreen multiplayer is useless unless you could do it w/a jumbo monitor or dual screens.
21. I have not been able to connect to an online multiplay session yet.
22. Editing aircraft is very complicated -was easier in G2.
23. Selecting aircraft is very slooooow (confirmed on 2 fast PC's)...

YBLee:
24. XP "Auto'Standby" mode causes periodic re-boots on my PC.
25. Norton's AntiVirus 2005 "Auto-Protect" mode causes G3 to crash when trying to boot my PC:
26. Heli's melt into the tarmac after crash like sinking into QuickSand.

27. Actually, all crashed parts of any bird - heli or plank - sink in to the ground like quicksand.

Progneto:
28. This may seem insignificant but the help manual needs some page numbers. For example: I was looking for how to set the takeoff position of an airplane. The index shows it is on page 31 but how in the world do I find page 31 without any page numbers? Editor: Progneto couldn't find any reference to "Set T.O. Position."
28a. The tails on tail draggers bounce while the airplane is sitting still on the runway. You must apply up elevator to keep the airplanes from nosing over as you increase throttle for takeoff. This is true with the Taylorcraft and Piper Cub.
The Albatross noses over while sitting on the runway. The only way I could even fly the Albatross is to create a new model and move the CG but then the airplane will barely fly.

29. Screen resolution always lost it's settings everytime I restart G3.
30. Frame rates drops suddently when hovering or when you crash.
31. Heli throttles stick is not proportionnal, you have to putr full throtthle to get the heli in the air.
32. Graphics hardware settings are not operating...

34. 3d is unrealistic.

Huey:
35. If you touch down on any surface other than the earth (barn floor, castle floor, top of a water tower, etc..) with a heli, the model is unstable... it will start to shake, and will eventually tip over into the surface and crash.
36. The full-screen v windowed mode handling for some areas of the simulator are odd. If you're in full-screen mode and you want to select another model... the sim has to pop back to windowed mode, and then back to full-screen when it's been selected.
37. Refresh rates are lower than G2.

Thought mine may be useful aswell...

I still find the planes have too much tendency to snap though, don't you.
Yes I do..

I have had the graphics and physics set to highest since day one.
Me to..


I have downloaded an installed the Heli update.
Me to. Since the day I purchased G3


Problems:

1. Everytime I open G3 it will open at 1600 x 1200 (16bit) after I've changed the setting to my needs. This is getting very old.

2. I noticed the poor ground handeling on several of the airplanes right away. The F-16 is terrible. I have all add-ons.

3. The unrealistic stalling is still there. Yes the physics are set to their highest.

4. Several of the airplanes will gain rediculous altidude even if the flaps are all the way up and the elevator trim is all the down (forward) Luckily the trim % can be altered within the software radio to correct this problem. Yes I have calibrated my TX.

5. When flying low, the ground is difficult to make out at times unlike G2 which leads to unnecessary crashes.

6. The Yak (3d) seems to 3D like crap to me. I need to hold full
right aileron while TRYING to maintain vertical for seconds before it snaps out. The Yak (with gyro) is crap also.

7. G3 needs a ground friction setting, even though some Jets are equipped with brakes.

8. After a crash, noticibly on the Dominion 90, alot of the time it the nav guide reads a bunch of junk values and it locks up showing the heli at zoom upon a blue screen. This is getting old as well because the only way I have found to break out of this BUG is to close out and reopen G3. I then of course have to reset the resolution to 1024 x768 (32bit) everytime.

So far, I will say the graphics are pretty sweet, much better than G2. I'm running a Nvida 6800 on a 19" Trinitron CRT with Antialiasing settings to max. But I'm very dissapointed with the above. The heli update may have cured a % of the problems but they are still apparent. Please, let's get these issues corrected.

The pitts is supposed to torque to the left because of the short distance between the main gear and the steering gear. My dads p-51 does the same thing, so e never takes off right to left. But all the other problems are the same with me

Jim Bourke has seen this list and this is what he said about it..

Knife Edge is working hard to address issues with G3. There are bugs for us to work on. We know that and we are going to put out patches to address them.

At the same time, RealFlight G3 is far better than you make it out to be. That's the reality that you are going to be confronted with when users actually try it out and then compare it with the picture that you paint.

I hope that you stick with the product and work with us on any bugs you have uncovered.

I understand that w/any new software their will be "issues" but I just think w/G3 their are far too many "issues" and it's really obvious that they released it way too early to get our Xmas dollars. The fact that they released it just 2weeks prior to the "Heli update" proves this (should of included Helis from the get go). This is a situation where the "good" clearly outweighs the "bad" in terms of investment goes.
