I dont know if this has been asked before, but here a few questions I have:

1) Can you load XTR/AFPD on more than one computer, I have 2 at home and 1 at work ?

2) Does the transmitter need to be turned on to work on XTR/AFPD ?

3) If the TX needs to be on will I be able to use D/R and EXPO ?

To answer your questions:

1) No. Each copy of AFP/D or XTR comes with a usb dongle that contains copy-protection codes. You will need to plug it into the PC that you want to play on

2) Yes. Some Tx that has DSC function may be automatically switched on depending on the adapter design

3) Yes, you can use all the programmable mixes in your Tx but you have to assign the proper channel and calibrate the software

Can anyone tell me if my Futaba 7CAP TX has this DSC fuction or will I need a charged battery installed?
I'm just trying to figure out which sim to buy, and it seems to me that if I need a charged battery evertime I want to fly I may be better off just to buy G3, even though it looks as if AFPD & Reflex XTR are better programs.
Any thoughts?

Not sure about the 7c but my 9c automatically turns on when I plug the adapter in to the back... and yes you need a battery...BUT...

the RF portion of the radio doesn't turn on and thats what uses the most power..... it barely drains the batteries at all using the sim....
and it is nice to practice with your own radio....

never used G3, only G2, now I have AFPD....and LOVE IT!!!!!!!

AFPD is available in a "Commander" version that includes a controller, similar to G3.

You can also use your TX, if you get an FMS cable separately.
