Yeah I was right, heres a screencap of the "Flying Mower" from AFPD and sure enough it doesnt say "FlyingThingZ.com" anywhere on the model. So why does it all of a sudden have to be on the one I made?

Hello Rick,
If you wanted to use the Sky Cutterr for G3, I would have been more than happy to give you permission to. The only thing I would have asked you for in return was to use my URL. As a matter of fact I wish you did ask me to
Just for the Record Dion has asked me for permission to do so, and permission was granted. Dion and I have worked a great amount of time trying to get the mower to fly the way it does. On the main download page you will see for your self that credit was given to FlyingThingZ
Just to let the skeleton out of the closet, I asked Dion to find out why FTZ mower was on G3, and if we could get Great Planes to plug it. Dion have help FlyingThingZ out in so many ways, I could never repay him for his help.
Now could you guys get back to your original topic
Sincerely yours,
Spiro Markozanis

IIRC the one I downloaded for AFPD doesn't say "FlyingThingZ.com" on it?
So how would this apply to other models like an Extra or a Giles or a Shockflyer would I need to contact the respective copyright holders of each of those aircraft and ask permission?
Thank god I am done contributing stuff their is just waaaaaay too much BS involved -not worth working for free anymore!

Now please, lets end this part of the discussion. Prop Nut, have you gotten any good multiplayer pics yet? Any with the Giant Yak? BTW, I've been editing that some more. You get better verticle if you reduce weights, but it flies better with the weight.

Ok, now that recess is over and we have gotten a little testosterone out of our systems.........
I did go on a few minutes ago Woops but I just didnt seem to be able to do anything right. There were a couple of guys there that were very impressive though. Wish I had thought to do a print screen of them. I dont even remember the names.
I did try out your GIANT Yak...........holy skunk scent Batman........Doesnt fit into the tubes for tube flying though
Solution Rick; You didnt model a Wingdings brand aircraft, you modeled a MTD lawnmower that was sitting in your neighors yard.

So your saying I need "permission" to model something?
Nobody is going to say NO Rick, but they will ask you to plug them for the use of their work. And if you do, I suggest you abide by their request.
Don't take it the wrong way. Your right there is a little BS in all of this but companies need to protect the rights of their work from someone coming along and doing whatever they please with it. It's not Knife Edge you want to hear from on this subject ... it's more like Great Planes. They are the ones that have interest in protection of their models.
And Woops ... I'm only talking about the FTZ version of the mower. No other one, I know there are others. Ricks model is based on the FTZ version.

Yes. But in most cases ... in fact in almost all cases, you will get permission to use the model shape as long as you do not profit from it.

STLPilot, please quit the arguing here. If you want to argue about something, start a thread and send me a link. Rick, please don't respond to his post.

We are talking about how much fun G3 multiplayer is. We are also sharing pics of G3 multiplayer. If you want to talk to Rick about anything other than flying with friends on G3 multiplayer, then please do it off this thread. The PM system works great.

I also have G3 with multiplayer on my computer as well so I know how "fun" it is. My ideas of fun are just a little bit more different then what you do for fun.
You should come up to NYC sometime and find out. Myself and at least one other guy in this thread will show you the definition of fun. Only you have to be 21 and over.
For some reason the Flying Mower sales have really picked up tonite. Thanks Woops for starting this thread! It's just like old times.

If your wondering why G3 has online play and AFPD doesn't it's the same exact reason X-Plane doesn't and MSFS does. Aviators, like myself, want realism, not fluff.
