Thank you Scott.
I open the model editor in the FS One, copied the Blade CP and looked at all the infos. It's quite complicated for me and i don't understand what i have to change to make the CP act like a Msr... i have changed the weight but it still goes too fast for me !!

These instructions are from my post a while ago:
Slowing your heli down
Method 1:
Adjust the Sim Rate Multiplier. Open the program, click on the options button, click on the physics button and click on the field that is indicated by the Sim Rate Multiplier and change this to anything less than 1.00. Now on my computer this field doesn't work exactly as it should, but you'll likely get one of these settings, so try it

great! That's nice to be able to fly slower!
I was more looking into having the same feel as my Msr by modifiying one of the existing helis but that seems to be quite a process without the right parameters. If anyone has done it, i would like to know.
Thanks for your help!</p>

One thing to help me learn is usijng the upsized models of the same plane, such as a huge Cessna with I think up to 120 inch wingspan (Cessna being way easier trainer than the sticks (just like real life RC in my limited experience).
All planes can be resized using the choice which is something like 'all planes in scale' or something like that. There will be about 4 sizes of each model.
I think this is so for the copters too, ...not sure.
Larger craft are easier to see therefore easier to fly (just like real life RC).
Just my 2 pence worth...

Hi Ravacopter,
You will notice more luck with the larger copters. The heavier they are the more inertia they have, which makes it take more of a push from the rotor blades to get it to change direction. That's how it works for real helis too. So the smaller it is the more jumpy it is. I can tell you from experience, if you're looking at eventually going to a larger size real heli, I would skip any of the smaller CP models and go straight to a Blade 400. The CP models are pretty hard to fly. Check out rchelicopterfun.com The guy who wrote the website has a wealth of info and a couple ebooks that show you how to tame down your heli. He also has a training program that will show you how to learn to fly your heli with a severely reduced risk of crashing it. Its how I'm learning and I haven't crashed yet. I'm up to full hover for the full life of the battery. Then you can go back to the sim to practice more high risk maneuvers. That guy also has some info on the MCR, how to tame it down and speed it up.
Hope this helps.

Thanks B,
I just had the same advice today from a guy who has a Trex 700 and flies inverted. he told me to go straight to a Trex 450 and not a CP. .. So i went to check some Trex crashes on you tube...
I am following the website you mentionned and dowloaded the book on the MSr. Thanks for the advices.!

Hey there, I'm glad its workin ok for ya. I before you purchase a heli, I would review that website quite a bit. The guy talks about which helis are good and for what reason. While the TRex 450 is good, and made with good parts, he said he would go with the B400 because of the price/value. The B400 comes already assembled (though I have to be honest, I'm not sure how the TRex comes) but the B400 also has all the servos installed and should be set up for flight. The other plus, it comes with the Spektrum dx6i, which is a good radio, its a 7 channel heli 6 channel plane radio that is pretty awesome. If you bough a TRex you'd have to buy the radio equipment separately. Also too, the eBook the guy wrote is specifically for the B400, though it would work on the TRex as well. Also too, with the Spektrum Txs you can get a wireless connector for your computer to work with FSOne. So you can use your Spektrum wirelessly with the sim. This is cool cause if you want you can set up duel rates on the radio and don't have to mess with setting them up on the sim. This is cool because once you start practicing maneuvers, you can use the radio you're already used to.
Hope it helps.
Hope it helps.

Hello Calman and thanks for the advice. It is quite hard to choose and even on the site you sent me, the guy also speaks highly of the Trex as follows:
"The Align T-Rex 450 was certainly high on the list; in fact, if I was purchasing a 400 series heli just for me, the T-Rex would be the hands down winner.
The one thing i have decided is to wait until i have gotten good enough with what i have, the CX3 and the Msr, as well as gotten better hovering a Collective Pitch heli on the simulator. That will save me a lot of trouble and parts in the long run!! I leave in the bahamas and we have a hard time getting any parts, which we pay lots of duty on anyway.
I have ordered a few books to understand better the theory behind all this.
Thanks again for the advices!

I think that FSOne is an awesome sim for what it does and the models it has. That being said, unless some people can come up with tweaks, it isn't going anywhere until this fabled second installment of FSOne (please don't start the arguments again) comes out. As good as FSOne is, if there is an MSR on another sim, such as the pheonix sim now supported by Horizon, I would get that. I hear great things about phoenix sim as well.

Hi Cloudskipper,
I agree, as long as the posts can stick to 'technical' subjects. I stopped looking at the other forum because it died with childish posts. I used to check this forum every day and then drifted away. Now after a week, there's another page of posts. I guess I'll start looking in more often. Good to see that you and Scott are still hanging in.

I think the people who have been using fsone all along will start popping up again gradually when they see that all is well again and the coast is clear

Hi Scott.
Haven't been around lately but really excited to see the revival of FSOne.

Is this the forum where FSOne news is going to show up?
Tnx.

I'm not sure..... I heard about this from an earlier post and haven't done very much about looking into it. Michael posted here the other day, but didn't mention a time frame.
I'm not a gambler, but I expect when the program is ready for us, he'll let us know.

Thanks Scott.
Is this the right thread where Michael will post his news? I certainly don't want to miss this one.
Tnx.

It's up to him what he chooses to do.
He's welcome to start a news thread or use this one. Everyone benefits from whatever he does. And this isn't such a big forum that whatever he did would get lost...

I hope the new version comes with an upgrade edition for those who already own this version, and allows using the present controller.
I'm perfectly happy with the program the way it is except it apparently doesn't allow easy enough creation of additional aircraft, based on the fact that few if any are being made by amateurs.

Scott - how would you classify your flying skills? I ask because I made all the changes to the Trex from you post (thanks again!) & I still had a heck of a time controlling it. I have a TRex SE V2 clone (EXI450) that I can hover in 3 orientations & do sloppy figure 8's with but the sim I can barely keep it in the air! So I'm figuring if you're a pretty good pilot, I might need to keep dropping those values until I can control it.
Great news if they actually come out with V2 of FSOne. I was just thinking of trying to sell mine & go with Phoenix! I can wait a while to see what happens!

Hi Chuck,
I'm not a great pilot, I can fly four orientations while right-side up and can hover inverted on the sim only in one orientation.
I'd try this to slow the heli down further (mucking around with the other settings from my post a long time ago with the dozen or so adjustments might just be asking for trouble or at least a few hours of work)
Slowing your heli down
Method 1:
Adjust the Sim Rate Multiplier. Open the program, click on the options button, click on the physics button and click on the field that is indicated by the Sim Rate Multiplier and change this to anything less than 1.00. Now on my computer this field doesn't work exactly as it should, but you'll likely get one of these settings, so try it
Let me know how it goes.

Scott - 1. OK, you are farther along than I am. 2. that was the first thing I tried & it was like sloooow motion! Then I had to change it back when I wanted to fly the Cub. I'll keep tweaking. Thanks.
I gotta' get this nose in thing licked some how!

Chuck,
Have you done these modifications yet?
Here is the stuff on Trex settings that apparently make it more realistic. You can find a bunch more about the trex settings on page 53-54 of the big FS One thread at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_42...ey_trex/tm.htm
Anyways, the settings that apparently work best are described as follows, thanks to sctholson and sedergraphics:
"
quote:
Okay for anyone wanting to try these mods:
Copy the Trex heli and give it a name of your choosing;
Select Edit from the selections on the left hand side of the screen;
Choose Aerodynamics
*aerodynamics reference area .2
*Drag Coefficient: Fore/Aft .4, Left/right 2.0, up/down .4
*Rotation Damping: Roll: 0.100, Pitch: 0.100, Yaw: 0.100
Choose the Mass tab
*empty weight 1.8
Choose the Main Rotor Tab
*Blade Solidity .06
*Blade Rotational Inertia to 0.003
Choose Tail Rotor tab
*Rotor Solidity: .35
*Rotor Overshoot Constant 4.2
*Overshoot time constant: .002
I have found that any changes to the main rotor also then require changes to the Tail rotor, I haven't really worked out the relationship so please don't ask. These numbers were developed from just trial and error.
One more thing, I have the DX6 radio and for my flying preferences (for now anyway) I have turned down the rates of the right stick (fore/aft and left/right). I don't have a track controller, so I haven't had a chance to look to see how that's done, which would have to be within FSOne's transmitter software settings .
Good flying, and I hope these settings work for you as well as they do for me.
Kraig, try these new settings , makes the heli fly great.

Status: offline I have a new tip for everyone who is flying the trex 450. This tidbit will further tame the heli down and it's easy to do.
I got ahold of a TracCon controller tonight and here's what I would suggest to anyone who uses the traccon with FSOne.
In addition to the prior postings:
If you haven't already, make a copy of the TracCon Transmitter.
Click Edit, after the transmitter functions become available, click on the tab at the top of the screen where it says "mixing";
In the window that pops up, select CCPM120 and click on the edit button;
Click on the following field and change these from: to:
Roll Chan Gain: From .6, To .3
Pitch Chan Gain: From .6 to .3
Click OK
and Ok again.
Now these functions will save and the edit transmitter screen will appear;
Go to the Rudder or Left Stick, left/right, and in the transmitter section the second and third column say Min Max respectively;
The Min is probably set to -1.0 and the Max is 1.0; (this setting change when the idle up switch is activated on the transmitter, so be sure to adjust both idle up position and the normal position)
Click on the Min -1.0 ( a new window will pop up) click the up arrow to get to -.6, click OK
Click on the Max 1.0, then click on the down arrow to get to .6, click okay
Now switch the to idle up if you were in Normal, or vise versa and repeat these steps.
Now go to the Expo% with is the 7th column from the left and change that to 68% for both Normal and Idle up.
Click OK in the upper right corner and go fly!
Now these changes make this bird pretty tame, but not docile. These will be good settings to get your fingers to do what your mind wants them to do. You can slow the bird down even more by going to .2 in the CCPM window, but that was too tame for me.
The tail settings really slow down the tail too, so if you want that faster change the rate to -.7 and .7 respectively for normal and Idle up.
These changes work really well with the previously posted changes.
Have fun!

I am having a problem with FS One. No USB interface detected. I have read the earlier posts on unpluging and pluging back in and still no go. I also edited my registry to show in the control panel under contollers to show as Hanger 9 FS One v1. In the control panel the stick is saying it is ok. I went into the settings and tried the joystick throws and evewrything seems fine. Tried restarting the sim and I get the same no usb interface error. The version that I am using is 1.1.
The transmitter simulator that Iam using is SpringRC. This works for G3 no problem but for FS One it is a headache. I have read throgh at least 50 pages and am no closer to solving this. I only have the software, no hardware was included with the purchase.
Any help please. Cappercan

Any questions you may have will likely be answered here:
http://www.fsone.com/tech-faq.php
If you just bought FSOne and didn't get the adapter you are out of luck. I'm not even sure you can buy the adapter any longer. Are you aware there is a version 2 of FSOne?
Good luck
Scott
