your graphic card is a bit better than mine I jiust purchased 2 more GB of ram so I will have 4GB now but I still may have to upgrade the Graphic card,,I was looking at some prices and I cant believe how cheap computer staff is now,,about 1 year ago it was like $100 bucks per 1gb of ram now I got a 2GB stick for $45 + $5 for shipping not bat at all,,,and I saw some pretty nice Geforce nvidia cards 8600GTS for less than $200!!

Just an F.Y.I. I just got RF4 (from RF2) and I was quite worried that my old computer wouldn't be able to run it at all. I was pleasantly surprised! It automatically configured my settings to optimize speed, I believe most things are pretty much set to medium and I pretty much stick to Photofields.
My system: AMD 2.5ghz, 2gb ram and if I remember correctly, a 128mb vid card (6800gt??).
I'm going to upgrade the system in the near future, but it's not as much of a pressing concern as I thought it would have been!

It's a surprise to me to hear that the physics are changed (for the better) on G4. The early reports said that the graphics were better but only the physics for landings had been changed.
My G4 is on it's way, so I hope the physics really are improved!

charrua,
that's what I usually do. I build me a new computer every three to four years from scratch. Buy all components separately and put it together myself. Last year I built me a super duper game machine for under 1200 buckaroos. And that's with a 22" HD flat screen. Video card is a Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 Mb GDDR3. Smokin', man.

What Operating system are you running? It makes a difference as to whether your system will see all 4 gb or not.
To the PC-6400 (or ANY other memory buyers). Make sure that your system POSTS and sets your memory clocked to 800mhz or above - otherwise your PC-6400 is just not working fast enough. by default, many motherboard manufactures clock memory based upon FSB and the CPU. By default it may set to PC-5300 or anything else. Check your BIOS and your MB docs.
RealFlight and many other applications - performance is not specific to CPU, but instead mem SPEED (not just total mem), the GPU and for applicatiosn with a lot of disk I/O - the harddrive performance. You can have 16Gb of tyhe fastes memory around, but if its running at 400 or 600mhz, what's the point?

about 1 1/2 years ago I bought this HP Media Center PC m7087c it was pretty nice when I got it and I think it's still pretty good.
It's P4 3.2ghz 300GB HD 7200 and it had only 1GB of RAM then I added 1more and now I just got 2 more.
It came with this crap X300 Graphic card I think it was but as soon as I bought it I purchased a geforce 6800GS 256mb Graphic card and it's still not too bad it was Fine for G3.5 at full settings.
But I also fly Microsoft Flight simulator and it not very good my Frame rate it's kind of low if my settings are high so that why I'm kind of looing into getting another or better Graphic card.
I've been looking at one on newegg the Geforce 880GTS 640MB for under $300 but I'm afraid that I may have to also upgrade my Power suply I got a 500Watt power suply!!!

Your power supply should be fine. But make sure that you have a MB that supports PCI-Express. The GForce 8800 GTS with 640 MB is a great card. My Microsoft Flight Simulator X-Deluxe runs pretty fast. Frame rates are around 20-25 with all settings on high. Check your memory speed. Hopefully you have sims with 800 mHz. Makes a heck of a difference.

Yes it's PCI express,,and I flew abit today and just to try I set the setting to the highest setting and I was only getting arround 5 and 6fps,,that really sucks!!! some itmes 10 to 15 but I wish I had 20 at least.
I did some messures and I'm not even sure if I can fit the geforce 8800gts the specs says it's like 9'' long but I'm not sure if it is 9'' long from the actual Card or the whole thing from the mounting brackets,,,my old 6800GS is 8 1/2'' long tyhe actual card not messured from the brackets so the 8800gts it's like 1/2'' longer and I only got 1/4'' gap before it touches on the MB power cables.
So if you have the 8800GTS would you mind messuring how long the actual card is???
thank you

Man I got mine today,,the planes seems to have very little travel on all surfaces!!!! nothing that can not be fix.
they fly ok I guess I was afraid my card wouldnt run too good but it's just awsome it runs perfect at full settings on everyhing!!!!
Time to start playing with the twiking of the planes!!!!

are you talking about coupling while in a knife edge? Why would you want to take that out? Every airplane couples one way or the other. Only practice makes you a better "knife edger"

I have to agree with thevirginian. In fact it is one of the things I like about G4 is that it has coupling.
If you want it out i would recommend flying with your regular transmitter and using the programing of the transmitter to "mix" it out. Especially since when you mix it out it is never really gone anyway. (depending on the airplane if you mix it to be pure yaw in knife edge it will have some roll or pitch in level flight and vice versa.)
BTW I think I have one of the oldest computers that is running G4. It is a 2.0 G processor and I had to upgrade the video card to a 6200, but it runs great.
If it didn't my back up plan was to move it to a iMac, but I am avoiding putting anything microsoft on them mac . . .

Try the Yak... It seems to have the least coupling to me. It certainly seems to 4 point and knife edge easier and better than any of the others to me. But, in real life one must learn to fly what you got! LOL!

Or go in knifedge.com and download some cool Extras for the G3.5/G4. Those are great airplanes to hover and for 3D in particular. Check my earlier posts with attached screen shots
