Here is the response to your question that had been posted in the thread. The thread had become split off a number of times and was moved to a work area for cleanup :
To install the pre-GF4 addons that KnifeEdge rewrote to work with G4:
It doesn't matter where you download the zip folder/file. "Locate the file on your disk." seems to be no problem. It appears you know where it is. It also appears that your double-click of the file is some trouble for you. So just un-zip it normally. And point the un-zip to the location that is mentioned. How to do that? That's normal Windows. Right click on the downloaded file (wherever it is) and follow the pop-up windows. You'll need to select where you want the extracted file to go, and that would be the location mentioned in the instructions above.

For each file downloaded:
Locate the file on your disk.
Unzip the file. If you have Windows XP or Vista, you can just double-click it.
Extract the .zip file's contents to "C:\Program Files\RealFlightG4\Data" (assuming you installed G4 in the default location).
Now run RealFlight G4 or G4.5 and the Add-Ons content will be available in the aircraft and airport selection dialogs.

You're welcome.
BTW, it's a good idea to make your Subject line describe the help you need whenever you start a new topic. That applies both when you start a new thread like this one, and when you ask for other help within an already started thread.
It's not always easy to think of a good "headline", but a good descriptive headline is a huge help to getting the specific answers you're looking for.
The thread you've mentioned suffered from a number of spin offs. They might have been avoided with a more descriptive Subject line. Each of the spin offs would have gotten better responses had they been new threads with descriptive Subject lines. For one thing, the subject line of the thread they were in didn't describe the help the posts requested.
The thread that was moved had actually been turned into a "trash the mfg" opportunity as well as having a number of spin offs. It was actually moved to see if it was possible to edit out of the legitimate requests for help so the thread could continue to help people. Even if it had too general a Subject line, it was triggering others to ask for help. And that's what RCU is about. I'm hoping to get it back soon.
Just a suggestion about the Subject line...........

I guess I'm responsible for that. de Rock has told me that what; "...you did was ignore the topic of the thread." The Topic, of course, was Real Flight G 4.5.
Here's the answer to your question direct from the KnifeEdge website. I might also suggest that you visit the KnifeEdge site directly for such questions. Their site is filled with helpful tips to get around some of their software issues as well. http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/

Q. HOW DO I INSTALL CUSTOM CONTENT?
A. When you have downloaded the file you want from our swap site, load RealFlight. Select the "Simulation > Import > G3X" menu item in G3.5 or "Simulation > Import > RealFlight Archive" in G4 and G4.5. In the import dialog box that appears, locate the file you downloaded and open it. RealFlight will import the file. In G4 and G4.5 you can select more than one file to import at one time. Do not attempt to put custom content in RealFlight's data or documents folders; this will not work.

Not me , I was asking questions , I have all my info now so I am done lol , I cant take the drama . My sugegstion on any post positive or negative is to answer the post in an eduacted manner , you gain signifigant credibility for the product by 1)addressing the comment good or bad , 2)establishing the features and benifts of the product to address the stated concern 3)and simply place closure on the comment if the negativity continues beyond reason and is a distraction to the original subject matter .
Trust me , I handle accounts and customer contact that dwarf any volume generated in the RC industry , but on the personal side I am also a certified level 5 USA hockey coach . I handle the most difficult consumer -the hockey parent , over 60 emails a week on "why is junior not in the NHL yet " lol
its better to adress concerns upfront and with real responces then to make them disappear , then you truely gain customers and really address any issues fact or fiction .
Have a good day gentleman
