RE: FS One by Hangar 9
ORIGINAL: avroarrow Hello Brian, sorry didn't get right back to you right away, but snow and xmas have tied me up.I have 3 pc's at the moment, with one being a lap top.Early next week my Guru Son and I will sit down and figure this out. I will look at the open GL drivers and see what's in there. I did manage to get a smaller flight sim, FMS, running on my laptop by inserting a System 32 dll into Vista's registry and got the program running using the FS1 controller. The vista released OS is not built with this dll. Now your suggestion to review the open gl drivers sounds like this could be on the right track.I'll do some comparisons and see if we're lacking all the video drivers needed.I'll look at the sound side of things when I get the sim running. Looking at what happens when you try to start the sim program , we are not seeing a system crash once video is enabled, which is what i would expect to see if video was an issue. But we will check what open GL drivers have been loaded. Getting with a tech over the phone has been difficult , I'm not in the time zone and they don't work weekends. i will be completing another desktop PC just after xmas and this will solve one problem, then I will move to why things don't work for my vista OS systems after that.I'm also wondering if the people that have FS1 running on vista are using the 64bit version or the 32bit version ? I'm using the basic 32bit version. Don Be sure to check both video drivers and sound drivers. We have heard reports of some sound issues that prevent the sim from running, but after updating sound drivers, everything is fine. The same is true of video drivers. |
RE: FS One by Hangar 9
Thanks for the heads up on the sound drivers Brian...I will look at those also..If , well not if, when I get through this I will let you know what I found as the issue, just for your reference.... It wont be till after xmas now , too many people dropping by in the next few days, you know how it gets at xmas, especially when I've got 25 people in the house for xmas dinner...............Merry Xmas to all.....

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
ORIGINAL: Khatsalano I've recalibrated and checked my settings ... I am still getting this lagged left aileron effect. The effect is when I give the airplane full left aileron, it will give it a little for the first second then get stuck at full left stick for 2 seconds or so after I let go ... very odd. The oddity is, it only happens on some planes but not others. Here's what I found so far: Planes that function normally: P-51 150 P-51 PTS Mig-15 Parkzone J-3 Cub Planes that display this bug: PZ Stryker AT-6 Texan H9 Alpha 40 Edge 540 Weird huh? Any idea why my planes are all messed up asymmetrically? I did apply the latest patch and the expansion of course. - K I needed to switch away from helis for a bit and decided to try the planes you were having problems with. I just tried the Edge 540 and the H9 Alpha 40, I was using my DX6 in 6 ch emulation and I had no delay in the controls. Did you resolve this or are you still having this issue? Scott H |
RE: FS One by Hangar 9
Still have it ... not sure what's up but thank you very much for testing it for me! I may reinstall the whole thing when I have time but for now I'm finding myself doing a lot of real flying instead of simulator work. Winter here in California with its sunny skies and 60F days are not a problem. : ) Thanks!

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
I am sure you guys have heard this a lot but I would like to get this running quickly and it would take me weeks to read through all the pages. When I start it up a black window pops up and disappears and nothing happens. I read FS One's support forum and it said to have the transmitter pluged into the USB port. I have done that on all four of my ports and the same things happens. I have power to the supplied transmitter. I downloaded the new update. I just have no idea of what is going on. I have a Windows XP and meet all the requirements.

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
evdreamer,
you will need to download the latest drivers for you video card and sound card. |
RE: FS One by Hangar 9
This is probably a dumb question but, where would I do that. I am not computer smart. I just know how to run basic programs.
|
RE: FS One by Hangar 9
It depends,
A) What kind of computer do you have B) what graphic card do you have C) what audio card (or more commonly is this audio on the motherbord |

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
So, it's been awhile since i posted, and i'm alittle out of my teritory. I used to post on the trex thread. I have an excuse for my absence though, uncle sam. I was deployed back in june and we're just now getting internt. So i got a gift certificate to helidirect, and used to to buy fs1. And the wireless gadgets from horizon. I did this xmas day, then today i decide to start doing alittle research on the stuff. little backwards isn't it? I have a brand new dell laptop i bought for this deployment( first guy to crack a "my tax dollars at work" joke i'm not talking to for atleast a day) running vista ultimate. I've had a few problems with vista compatibility, always fixable with a little patence and www.microsoft.com. I have preflight, which is unusable due to audio hardware on this thing. Stupid Dell. And no, drivers didn't fix it. So I wanted something that would work, with my dell and my dx7. When i heard the whole usb thing, i jumped at it. Question is did I jump too soon? I'm slightly puter inclined so i hope to be able to solve any problems, but any tips you guys have i can use right from installation? Oh, for those of you who are asking where am I deployed, i can tell you and don't have to kill you. I'm deployed to the afghanistan theatre, and what do I do for a job? I'm a flight engineer on a U.S. Army CH-47D Chinook helicopter. No I'm not gonna buy the hirobo rc version, i see enough of the real thing during the day. Send the tips, if you got any and merry christmas, alittle late.
Flight it like you stole it. |
RE: FS One by Hangar 9
Hi jlentz, first thanks for serving!
Regarding FSOne and your laptop, the first question I have for you is if the laptop has at least the minimum hardware requirements? If it does great, if not you'll still be able to run FSOne, but some features won't work very well (if at all) Prior to getting FSOne, you can upgrade you drivers to the latest version's available, only the video and audio are needed, but this will mitigate any trouble spots following the FSOne install. You will need to access Dell's site and get the latest drivers (at least Dell makes this easy). Then install FSOne and then the patch. Try to fly emulating the trac controller first, before trying the get all the DX7 features to work, one step at a time and it will be less confusing. Oh and get to know Innertiasoft's faq page, you will likely visit it often in the beginning. http://www.inertiasoft.com/fsonefaq/index.html Good luck Scott H |

This LP5DSM is compatible with FS One, out of the box? Does anybody try this heli in FS One? Is it realistic? |

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
Well, new sound drivers didn't work so we are still dead in the water. Parts for new PC are on order so when they come in I'll build a desktop with the XP operating system,my other desk tops all run Vista along with my laptop, lots of ram(2gig),video is new Radeon 512mb card...This should work....but I`m just a little concerned with the hassle I`ve had. It certainly doesn`t inspire me to ever by another Hanger 9 product....ever.

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
avarrow, out of curiosity, did you try running the program in compatibility mode for win xp?

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
I am using FS1 and Expansion Pack 1 and Futuba T9CAP. I am trying to setup the TRex 450 Heli.
My question is when setting up the interface and calibration all of the axis and channels look good and responsive. When checking the servo column the throttle hold and rotary VRC don't affect any servo. Therefore I don't have a throttle hold on the two position SW G in the case of the T9CAP. Also I don't have any gyro control. Has anyone come across this problem? Better yet does anyone have the setup written out? |
RE: FS One by Hangar 9
So, I've got a question for you guys; does anyone fly 3d airplanes? and if so, has anyone flown the Tirbute 3D. I'm curious if it does harriers, and hovers. I've been playing around with this plane and I know I'm not a 3d pilot (although I've flown rc planes many years ago), but I can't seem to hold a slow flight steady. I'm sure it is just my skill level, but it would reassure me if someone else could verify that this plane in FSOne actually does 3d in it's stock configuration.
Thanks Scott H |

The throttle hold is just a channel assignment in the software set up, I don't know what a "VRC" is. The gyro problem is weird though. What kind of control do you want? For the most part if the tail holds that's all it will do? (There is some customization of the gyro, but each time I tried to adjust it FSOne crashed.) Scott H |

Thanks Scott H Go to the Aircraft Selection Menu. Use the combo box on the right to select "Scaled: All Airplanes". Then select "Scaled Tribute 12 ft span". This oversized Tribute is not only quite a bit of fun to fly, but it's slower response is helpful in learning 3D maneuvers and hovering. Give it a try. I had a visitor to the 2006 Toledo show try this approach at the show with great success. He even came back to the booth a second time with his girl friend, saying "this is the sim that taught me how to hover". |

It is called out in the initial channel/axis assignments on the transmitter edit screen. The throttle hold is also on the tx edit page and is shown on the servo mapping as controlling the throttle servo. Neither function from the transmitter will control any of the servos. However these transmitter functions show activity on the tx assignment and calibrate screens. They just don't control any of the servos. |

RE: FS One by Hangar 9
That Scaled tribute is very cool and makes learning certain things easier, it's also easier to see. Which got me thinking, can I scale the Trex? I bet it can be done, but there are no selections like wingspan for the heli's, or for that matter alternate motor sizes. Anyone come up with a way to scale a heli?
