Default RE: King Motors Baja Review with pictures

this is directly from my ddm order receipt

qty item description

2 dd262 oil seal set (need two because km motors use two of the small oil seals.)
1 dd259 team fast eddy replacement rc/cy engine bearing set (there are a couple of different options for this, i just chose these due to budget restraints. the fast eddy ceramic bearings look really nice)
1 dd252 zenoah/cy rc/ lh crankcase gasket
1 ca425 cy/rc pin bearing
1 ca424 cy/rc pin washer set
1 ca423 cy snap ring set
1 ca321 zenoah rc cylinder gasket

total price before shipping was $35.65 worth every penny.

p.s. the km cylinder gasket was .045. the necessary gasket is .020. so a pretty big difference in compression, i would guess. also there is a great series of videos on youtube from fasteddy and dark soul racing on the the rebuilding of these engines.

If you guys would go back and do some reading all this has been covered and part numbers posted, it would save a lot of double posting.

Mike, I agree totally. The repetition is taking an already large thread with great info in it and only making it MUCH harder for others to find the specific info they need.

Now, I am not accusing anyone of spamming, but the repetition is at the verge of spamming.

We know, and you actually posted actual and knowledgeable information that most likely was not even addressed earlier in the thread.

Great choice...... You are going to love it.

I just drove my CY 29 again tonight, which is the little brother to the engine you picked.... and again, as usual, it simply puts a grin on my face.

I upped the gearing to 18/56 with the reversed standard weight clutch and 8000 rpm spring and it pulls it just fine. HPI says if you use the standard clutch shoes ( not the one with lightening holes) the 8000 spring works like a 7000 engagment point, which I find just right.

The CY 29 is slowely breaking in and has required about four 1/32 adjustments over time. As break-in progresses it starts to seem a little fat and a 1/32 turn cleans it right up. My plug is still a little on the darker side and has not changed to the brown yet, so I know there is probably still one or two leaning adjustments in it yet, but I am sneaking up slowely on a good tune.

Just plain runs clean and very strong. It probably does not wind out as high a rpm as some others, but it is enough to make me think it is hauling a**.

Please let us know when your new monster arrives and how it all sets up

Dennis.

Dennis, what oil are you using with your CY29?

I am using Blue Marble that I got from DDM. I did not know anything about it at the time but only picked that because it was the most expensive brand DDM had.

It is working very well, but I don't see anything about it that makes me think it is any better than anything else. Since I have had it I notice no one ever mentions it. I also noticed it is more popular with snow mobiles.

If I had it to do over, I would have bought the Klotz DDM sells, but I really believe none of it matters as long as there is enough oil in the gas it could even be Walmart oil.

That is great........ worried you that it ran so good.......LOL

I am sneaking up on the best tune, but I know what you mean. Compared to the 23 and the zenoah 26, these big CY's really carry the mail........ at least for my feelings.

OK something weird is happening to me wondering if its happened to anyone else... when i run my baja in the field here at my house i get grass that wraps around my drive shaft on the pull start side of the baja but it don't wrap on the other drive shaft .. when i say wraps i mean it loads up with grass but yet the other shaft don't get any grass on it don't make sense to me.. i was hoping someone else had the same problem and could tell me how to keep that from happening.because when the grass wraps its self around the drive shaft it tares the boot on the shaft..also how bad is it to run the baja without drive shaft boots.if i could get them without having to pay 7 dollars shipping from ddm i would just get them but i think its ridiculous that you have to pay 7 dollars no mater what you order for shipping. i mean it could be a fuel line i order and that can be mailed in a regular envelope and it would still cost 7 dollars to ship I'm not up for paying more to ship the part then what the part cost its self. not to be a cry baby but that's just bull poop lol.. ok thanks again all for any help you may be able to offer me on this issue...
