RE: Redcat Rampage MT5
Hey guys kind of late to the party. I am still a newb to the 1/5th scale. I currently Have a baja and put it up for sale. I would really like to get a 4wd mt or buggy. Curious as to which brand offers the best durability parts availability IYO. I like the Smartech titan and the Redcat Rampage MT and buggy. I am not to fond of the buggy having the pipe hang off the side though. Have redcat and smartech been around for a while?
What brand would you guys go with.

Most people in this particular thread are going to say Rampage, just since most of us have one. Parts are easy to get, they will be in California real fast. My office is in Phoenix, so its only 2 days at the most.

Smartech inhouse manufacturers their engine....they have a 3 bolt head...the cy and zenoahs have 2 and now 4.
If you want to get a head kit to upgrade your H.P. or torque... they wont work on the smartech engines...you will have to buy an entire new engine not just the head kit
The 28cc that comes stock in the titan is a dog the cy 23 has more power
Parts for the rampage are very easy to get www.rampagehopups.com
rampage MT with a rear dominatrix pipe...not the dominator....a DOMINATRIX

how are these holding up as bashers? I've got a savage now, and I have never broken a single part, but nitro is growing old
parts to stock up on? Front a-arms seem to be the main weak point
any way to make them quieter? If they were almost silent that would be good, are there any oversized silencers out?

no 2 speed as yet, boil the arms and wheel uprights and hubs to stop em breaking, the ramp needs a few upgrades like alloy gear plate and the upgrade kit and themn you have one tough truck. vancouver hobbies is doing 2 for 1 right now, buy a mt and get all the bits inc tires to convert to tt (maybe the other way round) here's the link...awesome deal[link]http://www.vancouverhobbies.com/2for1rasa.html[/link]

I like how that Asgard body looks on your truck clubin. I been thinking of buying one of these bodies but was not sure if the tires would hit the edge of the body with the suspension bottomed out. Is there enough clearance?
