And of course you are right handed?Typical...You must learn how to paint with your lefthand then,he he!SKF are good bearings, theyre almost made in Norway (theyre Swedish[sm=tired.gif])

Looks good! How wide body are you going to use?Remeber placing the steeringknucles so that the wheels line up with the wings on the body. Its easier to put some washers between the knucles and the wheels, than rebuild the whole car.
Funny to think about,it would have taken me 5 minutes from now to get me this chassi plate you have been waiting for so long and that you had to order.Maybe not the same grade, but the same dimensions at least.

Lars the car is going to have universal dimensions.535 wheelbase and 400mm width. That is just the chassis plate, not the chassis itself. It has to be cut...And then some weight reduction...

Ok.Just to warn you,if you want to put on a body from MCD,they are 380 mm wide.Have you thought of what sort of body you are gonna use yet?

I'm going to use the mercedes dtm by fg

Edit:Hm....Checked the fg numbers again....Seems tha that wheelbase is 531 and not 535..Also the width is 392 and not 400.The 392mm means where the body arches end?If so,i need to reduce my width to about 362...right?If i'm using 60mm tires

Thats a nice body!If it says it is 400 mm wide,it shall be 400 mm wide.Nothing more, nothing less(maybe 1 mm,hehe).I know there are some bodies with 510 mm wheelbase on,but not 531.Please post a link to the body and let us have a look

If you make the wheelbase 535,i dont think youll get any problem with that.It will result in a 2 mm bigger gap in the wheelarches both rear and front, this is too little to get annoyed about. But the width i am not sure about, make the car 385 or 390 mm wide and put some spacers on the wheels if they are too far "under" the car, just to be sure

Well today,i finished the design of every part on the alu.To see where everything goes, see the dimensions, check spaces, calculate screws etc....Then,i noticed something that i didnt like at all!The aluminum sheet,is bend!A little behind from the front left corner!I mean,it doesn't sit flat on the floor. What can i do to straighten it up?Maybe if i find something heavy enought to put it on the alu? Will that make it flat?

I wouldn't worry about it too much, aluminium sheet always warps and bends when it has been press-cut. It wont make any difference to the performance of your car.

Wouldn't the wheel which is on the bent up side touch the tarmac less?Due to the chassis which is lifted up?

If its bent really badly then I guess it could have some effect, but you can always just balance it out on the other side using a few washers. I wouldn't worry too much though. On my car, the plate I made the chassis from was a bit bent from when the guy cut it, but I don't believe it has had any impact on handling or stability.

It is lifted up approximately 2-3 mm on the top of the curve...Here is a pic to see....I feel like i must straighten it up!I'll park the car on top of it for a couple of hours, and then it will be tip top

Lars i don't feel comfortable to use that sheet as a chassis....

I was told to hit the alu with a rubber hummer and it will flatten[&:]?Does this stand?Should i go for it?

Woah! I had no Idea the plate was that thick [X(] Maybe you could take it to a machine shop and get them to bend it back for you?
