Nice to help you!

I used the link-button on top of the messagebox and put the adresses in itI tried to put it in the Youtube box,but i guess its not working since the adress is not Youtube.

Yes,i watched the videos, lots of good driving there!

I have the homemade car,a [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7681456/tm.htm]Ford Capri mk1[/link] with the engine from a chainsaw, and i have a FG Marder which i have converted to onroad, using a [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7970048/tm.htm]Ford Focus body[/link] from MCD on it.This is a tribute car to Colin McRae from his time in Ford.Yes,i am a bit of a Fordman as you can see
I was looking very much forward for MCD to make the Ford Escort mk1 body, but this project stopped.I hope they bring it to life some day.

hello lars

thanks for the help, and thanks for the compliment on the driving.
the mk 2 escort body would be cool actually pure rally,so your a ford man, nice, friend of mine has a ford focus st turbo, nice car,i drive an integra type r im a honda man lol another friend of mine has a cosworth sierra 91 its mint and man it is quick,he throws out the ass of it just for fun at crossroads,we races when ever we meet on the road so thank god i dont meet him often lol

man i would love to see that capri with the chainsaw engine, how does it run?
what running gear have you fg/carson/hpi etc etc?

you got some good projects going on there lars,i like the sound of that marder convertion to onroad, you must be pretty skiilled with the 1/5th scales so,i also like the sound of that idea of the mk2 body from mcd hopefully for you they might produce them at some point, you must have had some work with the onroad conversion so what had you to change then?

i have a spare fg chassis lying around at home as i got a new one for my beetle so i might start up some new project sometime with that, i was actually considering a 125cc two stroke motorbike engine and extending the chassis a little as i have shed loads of parts lying around both alloy and plastic, could stick to fg diff and chain drive,im sure it would work, what do you think?

got a few bits today from hobbythek,4 more gbm cross alloy shocks to match the 4 i have already on my beetle, two choke shafts as i lost them on both machines, and i got four hitek hs metal geared servos, two big two small,i got the carson up and running this evening as it was lovely outside but the last time i ran it i could not tune it at all,i knew there was something up with it,i presumed it was drawing air from someplace or another /cracked hose i thought or just a leak someplace as the idle was very erratic,so before i left this morning i put it up on the bench and gave a look through it,do you know what i spotted, the manifold(intake) was loose,AHH GREAT i thought,so torqued them up put in new steering servo along with checking everything,so i was ready to go....so off i went to the place i run it as you saw on the videos, and to my surprise it wouldnt start at all.........ahhh no........... i was kinda piss''''d of to be honest,i spent another ten mins trying to start and finally fired up,spluttering, misfiring and erratic ideling........ohh no i said what now....... so homw i had to come with it kinda sour to say the least, and it was anoying me to try and figure out what could be wrong with it as i was worried it may have injested some dirt or rubber lol in to engine with loose intake,so bought it in took off header to chck piston, man its like new after 10tanks of fuel....150mill to 5liters i run,i might lean a bit anyway, checked everything and no good................ahhhh,so finally i came across the culprit, the intake mani again, when i was torquing those intake mani bolts this morning before runnin when i spotted them loose i overtightened the bolts (it shouldnt have cracked anyway) and cracked it so it was drawing air from there,i have to say the carson intale mani is fairly week looking plastic,im working on that right now it is 10pm here in ireland and ,my girlfriend is giving out lol the fg ones i have 3 spares and they wont fit,so im out with super glue to try and repair, hey it may just do fine lol we will see................................man i am going on a bit here tonight lol...

later folks..

Did you noticed that the underlining on "Ford Capri mk1" and "Ford Focus body" are links to the projects? There you'll see what i did to make/convert the cars.Hmmm, maybe you did see them as you asked what running gear i have used,on the Capri i used gears and some parts from FG,and some of the parts from the brake too.You are welcome to reply in my project threads!

I wrote mk1 Escort, but mk2 would have been even cooler as i have one myself

hello all listen just a quick message to say i will be giving forums a break for a while,i have a bit of a problem over in lsf right now,i am being blamed for spamming threads with rubbish so a contact e-mailed me to tell me.
not very nice there at all,usa baja banned me there for nothing, bigger the better/trip please if you lot decide to mess with somebody in future please do in a more discreet manner.

that moderator bigger the better just goes around starting crap for no reason,he shouldnt be moderator on a forum!!! whats the world coming to at all.

anyway i hear that forum is going down hill at a rapid pace as of now,and apparently somebody is spamming the site with warnings.

we all know the real story over there though...

i hear there are some guys here on rcu from overthere also GREAT LOL!!

i heard lots of good stuff about here anyway,i hear its a proper forum for real users that actually know what they are talking about.

i would avoid that place like the plague along with baja forum, not NICE THERE AT ALL!!!

because of them and there false accusations im quitting all forums as of now...

let this be a warning for all rc forum users.

lars i checked out your thread there some very nice work indeed.
must have took a long time to do them both? any vids of them in action?

i have some updates now.

i recieved my other 4 alloy shocks for the beetle gbm cross alloy shocks from hobbythek also i got 2 elcon wheel adaptors they reinforce the rims to make them stronger as my fg weighs quite a lot now and struggles to keep itself from rounding the rims from the weight.got my two fg choke shafts as i keep loosing them,i must put on a little super glue with them this time lol,got my 4 hitek servos one of the large ones for both the carson and fg,four sets of tyres, two fronts and two rears, keep me going for a while, got an intake manifold to replace the cracked one on the carson and three gaskets for it.

now to get them both up and running with some vids!!!

Thank you!
Sorry,no videos of them yet!I have built the Capri over several years, started the rebuild about two years ago.I started buiding it in 2002 i think, then had a long break, and found this Capri body on the web that fitted the chassi perfectly which got me to start building again. So it is not a new built car,it looked like hell before the rebuildI removed all the old parts untill it was just the frame left, and started from there.I regret i didnt took some photos of it before the rebuild just for the comparasion though.

The Focus didnt took so long to build, but i was pretty nervous when i was to put the jigsaw in the chassi, measured and doublemeasured and pentameasured before i cut itNow i am making some lights in the Focus body, waiting for some resistors (i use LED's) to finish the brakelights

Looking forward to see some new videos of your cars(on)

lol yes the car son my son lol

i think i might get a few videos of both machines in action tomorrow now all going well,i suppose its all down to the weather, weather it will let me drive or not haha

i will get my bits from hobbythek now in the morning so i cant wait to piece the carson back together and give it some runs..

p.s lars you should also check out my carson onroad thread i just started it up here a new one with pics and some upgrades.

man that capri body is great, well done man that is rare alright.....you would want to take care of that.

so what mix would you recomend for the engine?

i was using 150mill oil to 5 liters a bit rich i think so now im thinking of using 100mill to 5liter ratio, what do you think?

UPDATE!!

well my package came from hobbythek today four more sets of dtm fg tyres and rims two rears and two fronts, also the intake mani for the solo to replace the one i cracked,MOST IMPORTANTLY the elcon wheel adaptors came for the fg though,my two rear rims had rounded themselves out so these should do the trick lovely, also i got my four servos, two large and two small, all metal geared hiteks.also my four alloy shocks gbm cross ones and my two choke shafts as i keep loosing them lol

should have some good videos now coming as soon as weather allows both onboard the fg and from camera woman (my girlfriend nicola) lol

The recommended mix for these 2 stroke engines (unless they are highly tuned,5%) is 200 ml oil to 5 liter of gasoline (4% oil),so in my opinion the mix sounds a bit lean.
Yes,i am afraid to destroy the Capribody,i cant find it or parts for it anymore[]Maybe i should have put some steelfenders around the car so the body gets clear if it should crash
I will have a look in your other thread!

damm everybody seems to have differnt mix recomedations dont they,on my bottle it says 150mill to 5 liters anyway but i suppose like you say there are so many differnt ratings for all oil types.

my engine is a highly tuned one it is an o neills 27.2 stroker race ported engine (zenoah) revs to the moon lol...

i might go back to trying 150 to 5 liters....

that capri body is awesome!!!!!!

love the work you have done on them.

I have been tought from the first time i looked on a large scale car to use 4% on the stock engine, and if i had this engine you have i would have used 5%.What bottle is saying this?I know on chainsaws and similar there are recommended 2%,but they have about half the rpm's of these engine we use.

I lived for about one week inside the Capri body, spent the time on masking and other things to prepare it for the paint
