I just replaced the rudder servo on my trex with a Hitec HS-65HB. I can get the servo to move the rudder left and right but it goes way to far and bends the arm that goes back to the tail. It also doesn't return to center when my TX stick is centered. I have a JRXP6102 TX and cannot find out how to correct this in the manual and the servo didn't have any instructions. Any help would be appreciated. I'm losing flying time!

If you want to check your servo, plug it directly into your receiver (don't go through the gyro) and see if the servo work OK, that will tell you if there is something wrong with the servo.

Yeap in heading hold the servo will not center when the tail rotor is not spinning. Charlie is right the endpoints need to be adjusted on the Tx depending on your gyro. If you have a limit adjuster on the gyro use that to adjust the travel and set your travel adjustment on the 6102 to 100% each.

OK, I set up the servo while the gyro was bypassed. I then put everything back together and flew. My heli still wants to spin left or right in sudden jerks. Is it possible the gyro is bad? I just got the heli. Don't know if it was crashed but while I was working on it, it looked as though there may have been a tail strike. I have a GY240 gyro on it.

I assume by the servo your using (Hitec HS-65HB) we are talking about a micro heli, what heli are we talking about?
I doubt the gyro is bad, but anything is possible. The big thing to watch for with micro helis is make sure your battery has a good charge, the lower the battery gets the worse the gyro will hold, when the battery gets real low you will find the gyro will barley hold the tail. Maybe your battery is no good (just a thought).

I'm flying a TrexSE. I never had a problem with low battery issues. I have 2 trex's and use the same batteries on both. I just got inside from flying the one with the problem. I turned off the AVCS so it's like a regular gyro. It works GREAT. When I turn the AVCS back on the jerky tail problem comes back?

I'm not that experienced at adjusting gain. I know where to adjust it. My gyro instructions say to adjust it while the heli is hovering and just before the tail starts to hunt. I don't think I want to adjust it while it's hovering. Anywhere I can get good instructions? Thanks Charlie for helping.

From the quick look I had at the gyro [link=http://www.futaba-rc.com/manuals/futm0809-manual.pdf]manual[/link], you adjust the gain on the gyro. If you adjust the gain on the gyro, your going to have to shut your heli down when you adjust it, then turn you heli back on so the gyro can reset itself (if it had remote gain you wouldn't have to do that).
Just out of curiosity, what did you do, just plug the gyro in and try to fly it? You have to set the gyro up right or your going to have problems.
Did you have a look at the [link=http://www.pilotlocator.net/state.php?state=PA&B1=Submit]Piolt Locator[/link] and see if anyone is close to you that can help you get your heli setup right?
