Warning - I am a total newbie to this -
I was recently given a Dynahawk GX blackguard helicopter and an having some trouble controlling it. It is an electric coaxial copter. If it helps anyone here is a link to it:
[link=http://www.spittys.com/product/APACHEHELICOPTER/AH-64_RC_ELECTRiC_APACHE_HELiCOPTER_DYNA_HAWKGX_BLACK _GUARD.html]Helicopter[/link]
Anyway the manual is so poorly translated that large sections are indecipherable and I can't get it to hover or go forward. All it does is go backwards. Can anybody give me any suggestions on adjustments to make it control better?
Thanks,
Mark

The model you have is "2 channel" helicopter. This means you can basically go up doen and spin left/right. with weight in the front you can make it go forward and sorta stear it with left right tail movement. Use this in a field or park and have fun. when you want a heli with more control get a 4 channel coaxial blade (that is like what you have with two sets of rotors) heli. The 4ch ones go for $100 to $200. The coaxials are lots of fun and easier to get flying than more traditional single rotor heli's.
I bought one of these for $25 for parts for my 4ch Apache, but now I am thinking of modding it to a true 4chanel instead.

dbcisco has it right, with only two channels you can only control two aspects of movement. The first will be throttle and because it's a fixed pitch the amount of list you get is completely controlled by how much throttle you give it. the second channel is rudder or spin. you will not be able to both hover and get forward movement, i suggest adding the weight to the front to get forward movement as that's more fun than hovering in place and spinning in circles.
The advertising is misleading when it says it can move forward, back, left and right. You need 4ch to do that.

A Syma 2ch was my first RC heli and I have loads of fun with it. It had nice forward movement and was like a giant Airhog Havoc. I soon bought a 4ch single rotor heli and I have yet get any single rotor to land safely
I then bought a coaxial and it is my favorite helicopter (Colco Apache 4ch). My collection now includes four miniatures (Havoc like), four 2ch Symas, a 2ch Apache Coaxial, a Colco 4ch Apache coaxial, A Walkera DF #4, a Blade CP, a Blade CX and a couple "Scale" heli's in the making. More on the way!
Of them all the Colco 4ch Apache is my favorite and the easiest to fly. The miniatures are real fun too because you only have to chase these 2ch critters across the room instead of across the park like the big 2ch ones.
However, my collection justified my wife to start collecting also... we now have eight ferrets! The don't fly to well but you should see the arobatics they can do in ground effect
