I'm finishing my Venture 30. I've read the manual front to back many times, and I'm confused about what is 3-D and what is not. For fixed wing I heard it (3-D) defined as a manuver that cannot be achieved in the normal flight path of an airplane. Or more simple, a stunt a "real plane" can't do. For a heli it seems that every aerobatic manuver would then be 3-D. What is a "beginner" set up (as directed in the manual) Venture capable of? Will it hover inverted? Loop? Roll? 540 stall turns? Fly backwards? Loop backwards? How far will it go without the 3-D set up?
Thanks,
Thanks,

you'll know... meaning as long as you have to ask you should be fine... don't jump the gun...
i do not know about the exact setup they have with the venture for beginners, but loop and stall turn should be fine... any further you better make sure it is all setup correctly for more aerobatics... but take your time to learn the basics first, hover all directions etc...

I saw a Venture at the Hirobo cup, and (like most modern designs) it is certainly capable of 3D. Don't worry about 3D set up yet. Just do the normal flight mode with zero degrees negative pitch to learn. That said, the set up for 3D is to set one of your flight modes to have equal amounts of positive and negative pitch, and max throttle at both high and low stick, with about 40% or so at center stick.
On a heli, 3D just means radical extreme aerobatics, as opposed to FAI pattern style aerobatics (flips, funnels, aerobatic autos, chaos, etc.)
