Default hummingbird control....

Hello, I just finished set-up of my new hummingbird and took it out to test fly and I have some problems. When the rotors are spinning at a low throttle, it seems like it wants to go forward when i give it right cyclic-(sp?). and backwards when i give it left. it's all pluged into the reciever ok and I can see the swash plate move right when i give it right, left when i give it left, forward when I give it forward, back when I give it back..And It also spins fast when I try to pop it up in the air. I know It's the gyro but it doesn't seem to help. It's all in the adjustments I guess.

I'll keep working on it and see what happens.

any comments, tips, or set-up instructions welcome

thanks

i personally don't know about the hummingbird head, but piccolos (which hb's are close to anyway) have a fair amount of interaction, meaning that straight ahead isn't really straight ahead, it is more like 20 degrees or so to the right. your brain actually deals with this really well and you don't even realize it. as long as the swash is following the stick it should be fine.

I tested it out some more, I can get it to skid around my kitchen floor in about a 7' x 7' box but I always have to be on the left rudder or it spins slightly. I'm thinking adjust the gyro more right? Also I programed in 30% revo mixing and It seems to help a little but I'd like to know If more would be better or negative? hmm

I tried taking off towards the beginning(while holding left rudder to stablize it) when i left the ground , it starts to spin even with the left rudder. back to work.

At least I'm learning how to fly while fixing these problems

thanks all

are you using an on board mixer and revo mixing? you will want to disable one, it is much easier to troubleshoot one problem at a time instead. (I've had better luck with onboard mixing for some reason...)

Make sure your getting a full charge when your charging up your battery. The lower the charge in your battery, the less control on the tail your going to have. I find with mine, when my battery has a full charge the tail holds good, but as the battery starts to run down the tail won't hold as good.
If your using the wall charger, you should get yourself a good peak charger, those wall chargers aren't much good.
