Oh Ben...

Always something nutz to say :-)

Explain what my post has that is a witch hunt???

It is the actual facts, written in a polite way, far, far above the courtesy what your buddy Bryce deserves. There is a valid reason that he is banned. Get over it.

You want people to follow the rules on RCU? Well, If you homeboy had done that in the first place, this entire thread would not have existed.

I think post #29 falls into that category. Check the moderators forum FYI.

Best Regards and I'm glad I'm not in you guys shoes anymore. Keep up the good work!!.

"My first vote to reinstate Bryce."

1+

By the moderator: "A large number of old threads had been brought back from the dead by a member on monitored status. This gave an odd appearance to the page." This constituted a violation of what policy? I can understand it was a PITA and he should be talked to/suspended/etc., but next time do it in the background.

CowboyLifesaver, take a bow! "There are just way too many people on RCU who think they are a whole lot more important and smarter than they really are."

FalconWings:
"Based on what I'm reading here, from some folks who seem to be very knowleadgeable about Airline crew selection /qualification criterion, I guess anyone can fly a heavy jet with 200 passengers onboard. My mistake."

Some folks on here just might have 30 years experience in the aviation industry (ahem), and just might have a little insight. Getting hired at an airline has more to do with fitting your peg into their HR hole, good timing, the proper level of experience and passing the medical. It has nothing to do with mental stability or instability. You could be crazy as a loon and pass a Class 1 (My apologies to our Canadian loon friends, many of whom are not crazy and in fact are living quietly and working as aircrew!).

I went the corporate route (too old and bad timing), but have trained and mentored many who went on to the airlines, as well as having many airline pilot buds. They are full of stories of odd behavior - some near criminal, some well beyond oddball - but they chalk it up to 'blowing off steam". As long as it harms no one and isn't obsessive, they tolerate quite a bit. The pilot group has the same problems - alcohol & other addictions, divorce, depression and other MH issues - as the general populace, and they hide them as well or better.

"For the record I was not accusing Bryce of anything," Oh, reeeally? Then how do you explain:
"A commerically rated pilot showing signs of mental unstability in public?" Sounds like you've suggested he's mentally unstable. Careful, such statements are actionable in court. I find it interesting that you're the only one who's suggested this. Others have pointed out that he hadn't even violated an RCU policy.

"Eddie C, you are a very classy guy. "Orwellian" , wow, that sounds like a GRE word. Stanford?" Stanford (blush). Nah, but first 9 years were at parochial school with Catholic nuns. Some community college. And I read. A lot.

"Sorry for my typo there earlier Catedratico. English was the third and last language I learned, so yes I fat finger words every now and then. The keyboard on my Iphone doesn't help much either." My dad, a carpenter, had a saying: "Tis a poor workman who blames his tools."

"Try spelling this one: errare umanum est, sed perseverare diabolicum." Okay, but first it's 'humanum' (sp). To err is human, to persevere is evil. 3 years of Latin courtesy of said nuns.

Ciao. Free Bryce!!

He was banned for that? I went through this thread and some of the old threads that were "resurrected", frankly I'm beginning to see why RCU has the reputation it does. At all the the places I fly and shop and run my truck RCU has.........let's just say a less than flattering reputation.

FYI, I will not call Bryce my buddy. I've met him at 2 Jet events and have spoken to him on the phone when two of you were fighting it out here few years ago during my tenure as a moderator. If Bryce did something that warrants moderation status, that is his problem and let him face the consequences.

With that said, it would have been very noble of you if you had restrained yourself from feeding fat the ancient grudge you have for him. You know it and I know it that what I just stated was nothing but factual fact.

Best Regards

Ben

I think I just didnt get the humor in what B was doing, very odd in my book and many others. And knowing that he is pilot I would have never guessed that he would do something like that on purpose, therfore I threw my hacked account theory. But thanks to you and others here, who took the route of defending this odd situation Ive learned that it is perfectly acceptable and normal and in fact B probably did it out of spite for some other reason we don't know of, and his account had not been hacked.
Again, thanks for the clarification. Can't help but feel kind of sad now, you know with all the things you've said about how a total whako could potentially fly for a major carrier. I never thought that would be possible.

Anyway, and I will comment no more, to summarize this loonies can fly, B was just pi••ed at RCU, and you went to Catholic School.

FalconWings,

Surely you're kidding! Headlines from just the past couple years:

Drunk Airline Pilots Face Prison
One America West Pilot Gets Five Years, Another Gets 2 1/2 Years

An American Airlines pilot was arrested Wednesday at London's Heathrow Airport after he showed up drunk for his Chicago-bound flight, the airline said today.

United Airlines pilot arrested on suspicion of being drunk
An airline pilot was arrested in the cockpit of his plane on suspicion of being drunk before take-off.

Passengers stop flight after 'drunk' pilot sparks panic

I'd much rather have a pilot who spent his evening, prior to a flight, in his room posting silly messages on RCU, than one who spent it in the bar drinking!

That's obvious.

By the way, Prozac is an antidepressant, alcohol is a depressant.

Most of you have no idea how many kooks, wierdo's, pedophiles, cranks, UFO'ologists, abductee's, etc., etc. (not to mention low level  substance abusers) there are at any major air carrier.
Nightwalker is light action - why not focus on your Congressional Rep instead?
