RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Other servos will fit in ailerons and flaps and probably rudder with some trimming of the mount, but as far as I know, the only servos with the required power and .75 inch thick or less to fit are the JR 8411/8711s.

8711 are too wide for the tails. Just 8411 case size, JR8321 are OK too. Loose gears are nothing to HT dead band!

While you are on the Comp-ARF site. go to the UF section in Downloads and download the Ultra Flash Update file written by Dave Wilshere. It will point out some differences between the Flash manual and the UF wings. I would also add that if you have the trailing link struts for the C-36/2 retracts there are a couple other 'gotchas' that aren't written down. Let me know if you need more info.

has anyone actually flow this plane with a P80SE? I'm new to turbines, have P80Se on the way. I'm not looking for a speed demon or anything like that, just a nice worry free Sunday flier. I want to buy a Sprint but if this flies with the P80SE i would consider this with a DreamWorks Gear package.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
I fly my classic Flash with a 19 lb thrust RAbbit and for me it is perfect. There is a video of my plane taken a couple of weeks ago at this link
http://www.youtube.com/user/rcvideos.../7/aMu-RGyYgkI
There was about 5 mph of wind and you can see how much runway I used to take off. Speed on the flat is not blazing like the big block guys but is in the 170 range and from a dive you can play around the AMA limit but of coarse it is a limit and you wouldn't want to go over it. You will love this plane. I fly it out of a 400 foot strip and on this flight I was trying to see how slow and short I could get. Wasn't the prettyest thing but I think I used about 50 foot of runway.

The link above will take you to the Comp-ARF website to order the Ultra Flash. As to whether to buy/fly the Spring or UF, Dave Wilshere is probably the best source of opinion, but I bet he recommends the UF. Just my two cents, and it's worth about that much...

Thanks a lot Mark,
I went to the web site but I can't see if it's actually in stock, the little stop light sing they have on there is on red on all models besides one, so I'm guessing that means out of stock but the green color one has it on yellow but don't know what's the meaning, and the green one is actually the color I would buy. Do you know of some one I could contact via email to get some info?
I'm really interested in this plane any help is very appreciated.
Thanks.
FYInfo. I'll put a p80se in it. What do you think about that?

If Dave Wilshere (in the UK) can support you , that would be my recommendation. In the US, Ray Labonte is a good choice. Regarding the turbine, in previous posts, Dave is adamant that the P-80 is totally adequate. I will back out and let Dave speak for himself.

Guys.
Yes, I really think the P-80SE will work well, even tempted to build a second one for a P-80SE to show people!
One of my friends is building the Black one I showed with a Hawk 100R which is just slightly above P-80SE power, we should have that flying soon.
Let me see what we can do about supply, need to check where is best to ship one to you from shipping cost/logistics wise.
So, green colour?
Dave

OK I've checked with CARF and it's best supplied from the USA, so contact Ray and he'll sort you out.
Best Regards

Pat
Arm length on JR I used were 20mm radius on rudder (could be 7/8"-22mm) same on aileron, though 20mm is enough, Flaps from memory less like 5/8" 16mm
Rods as update on CARF site, but it will depend on link/clevis length. The stock 3mm all thread and clevis work great, even if they look "basic"
