Looks great Martin...in my colours ;-)
Had a good day at PMFC yesterday and Capt Luke proved what a great airframe the UF is...he'd be the first to say he's a bit variable on the sticks and yesterday he did some great landings...and what looked like being some horrible ones (hovering off the edge of the patch in light winds) But all touch downs were good.

Thanks Dave, and thanks for the couple of helpful pointers during my build,
I would like to report that the maiden went well apart from not dialing in quite enough down elevator with full flap, in the end I had about 7mm dialed in and 5mm crow and that worked great for me, by the third flight I was greasing it in love it!!!!!

If you add CROW you will need more down elevator...

Same here. I ran out of down trim I needed so much with full flaps & crow. Had to adjust it with my sub trim which affects every "condition", so I had to pull out the ruler & readjust (flap zero, 1, & full) elevator trim positions. Can't wait to get my gear issues sorted & get back up

Oh ok, I started out with crow because I had it on the classic and liked the nose up approach it had on landing, the ultra slows nicely but doesn't come in with the nose up attitude as much as the classic would, not a bad thing but just different, maybe I will try without the crow and see what difference there is.

Classic was a whole different aeroplane! I like it without CROW, some like it with.

Two questions
1. Does anyone fly this plane nuetraled, If so what cg nuetraled it? I'm at 232mm cg & require a lot of down elev when inverted.
2. Anyone successfully use a K180 in the UF, or is it too much residual thrust? I'd dial it back to 30lbs, & have something to move into my Ultra Lightning once I buy one.
Thanks, Jay

Does somebody have an Ultra Flash kit that he is not going to build and wants to part with? If so, please send me a PM

You have any up trim straight and level? If so you sure all of the seam around the rear tailplane seat is removed?
I've flown one with a K-180...with full beans. The high residual is not a problem as the UF has a tonne of drag.

I have very little (about 1mm or 1/16") down elevator for level flight, & If I understand you correctly, the rear horizontal stabilizer is perfectly seated on the rear of the aircraft. Good news about the 180! It appears to only be about 2ounces heavier than the 140.

Mmmm doesn't add up! You don't have some flap hanging in clean flight? All the UF's I have flown are near perfect tail trim, down says its climbing and yet you are saying inverted it needs lots of down??

Yeah, I know. I only have 2 flights & ran out of down trim with full flaps so had to do some readjusting. Perhaps I messed up the flap zero trim setting, IDK. But during the 2 flights I trimmed level, then flipped over & did a few inverted passes & needed quite a bit of down elev. Once my gear issues are sorted & I get my hands back on it, I'll give it another look

Hello guys,

Just ordered an UF with a P100RX. What do you think of its performance with this combo ? This is a great thread with loads of useful information. Im sure ill find it very handy when I start putting it together.

Matt.

I have 2 flights with a P-100. it works very well, is a light set up, & very fast once on step. With that being said, I plan on going big-block for more vertical and take off authority.
Either way, you're in for a treat

I had a p-80se, same thrust but a little heavier. A little longer take off roll but once in the air and moving flew plenty fast and good vertical if you keep the speed up. A good combo all in all but I just received a p-140 for the same reasons as mentioned above. You'll love the plane no matter what turbine you slap in it.

Thanks to All who've contributed to the UF thread over so many pages ,
I finally test flew mine on Sunday with a Jet Central Cheetah 140N.
This airplane is an absolute blast to fly , verticals are unlimited and the high speed is in the 400 KM ++ range.
THe ONLY problem I've had with the UF are the tanks that came with it.
The saddles are to flimsy and one had a leak , I had to strengthen it with another layer of fiberglass and resin in strategic areas , also the main fuse tank was leaking at the metal insert thats epoxied in the tank. Next time I'll make sure I leak test the tanks in a bucket of water before installation.
Other than than Comp-ARF have really ARF'ed the UF , theres nothing I could find wrong with it either with fit or with the quality of hardware provided.
The performance is really exceptional !!

Almost done putting my UF together. I still have to program the radio which I really hate. Anyways, I'm sort of lost on where to put the air tank that came with the Bohetec gear. Any help is appreciated.

It goes right in the nose. You have to sand a little from the front former for clearance

I just dropped nose retract down then slipped the bottle in place with a little piece of foam for cushion to stop it rattling about.
