Looking good, you needed to modify the retract valve mount before you painted it! The new valve has four feet :-(
When you bring it in for the final set up I'll give you a neutral balance point to suit your thumbs, it will be close with the P-100RX back there-don't forget the latte ;-)

Great choice of scheme SR117, Unfortunately I'm away with work now for three weeks but will post a load more when I get cracking again. I will definitely get some video posted of the test flights.

Ha Ha I can't wait to scrape the paint off my equipment tray when I get back….. I thought i could just cut some slots carefully for the feet so that they locate into the side frame (-; Will suss it out when I get back. Not counting my chickens on this but we may get a test flight or 4 in next time home ! Im sure it will take longer to finnish than I'm calculating !

Hey guys
What are you using to protect the wires from heat at the rear of the plane. I have tried to find more of that tape.
I know you have the small piece of protect tape but I need to go a bit further..... I run the rudder cable back to horizontal stab where I have a PB hub and then of course I have a PBus going back to the front of the aircraft which takes all the servos comms from the rear.
Tried local places and have failed to find any.... suggestions for a newby to jets like me... please.
thanks in advance
PS managed to squeeze the Futaba servos into the tail with some slight work. Thanks for all the suggestions from you all on how to do it.
Working on the wing now...

Every jet I have built in the last 12 years (7 Flash models) has had the alloy foil tape (2" wide) covering the leads. Some of the sleeves are probably fine, but watch the weight. I use heat shrink tube through the formers-un shrunk. Its a quick reference to fuse temps as cold shrink is 125 degrees and 220-250 degrees high temp. Still not shrunk any down.
Cut out the ducts and everything should be good

Done, as in, ready to go!!
Had an small break in finishing cause of my first born son entered my life at the 28 of Jan. but in between found the little time to get the Flash last bit's and pieces ready for the maiden.
Set up is,
- Kingtech K140G
- Graupner Des 707 all over exept for elev. 2x JR8411
- Powerbox sensor switch
- Powerbox smoke pump
- Futaba Rx Tx
- Jet-1A gears (One way)
- 2 x 2200mah 2 cel LiPo for Rx
- 1x 2100mah 3 cel LiFe for Turbine
- 1x 3200mah 2 cel LiPo for smoke pump (needed weight in the nose)
- JetTronics gear and brake valves
- sadle tanks for fuel
- wing tank for smoke
- GBR jets Cat 130 UAT
- Dave's Clunks in all the tanks
- And a lot of other small bit's and pieces i forgot
AUW (on the bathroom scale) UAT full maine tank 1/4 full 12 Kg = 24 Lb as i'm right
I balanced the plane as per manual, and the funny thing is it is just about keeping the nose leg on the ground (tanks empty)??
Kept it nose heavy for the first flight just to be sure.
Now lets wait for nice weather

+1 on January birthdays Congrats, Midas.
As for your UF sitting light on the nose: if I defuel mine completely (But UAT full) it will simply plop over on its tail. And believe it or not I'd like the CG just a touch further back yet! CARF needed to move the mains about a half inch further back in my opinion. She sure rotates for take off easily though.

Which main legs and how much trail empty? Fully fueledl you can see the wheels another inch further back, even with landing fuel its never been an issue.

Really looking forward to the maiden, but we are almost blown of the planet weather wise, and my field turned in to an swimming pool

Dad ;-) The Jet1A legs are straighter than the CARF specified AT legs so the wheel is slightly further forward-same thing with DW Jet 1A copies. Neither should actually cause any issues other than on tarmac and a cross wind where the nose wheel is a little light.

I'm using Dave's clunks as well, i'm using the big bore one's with big bore hose all the way up to the pump.
I'm not using any felt on them, not in the saddles and maine for fuel. I got the GBR Cat130 UAT and there is the only felt i use.
In the wing Tank (Smoke) i don't use felt either.
It all works very nice so far, must say haven't flown yet (very bad weather in Holland now) but i don't expect any trouble on this matter at all
Must ad that i filter the fuel and smoke oil 3x before it enters the system………...
Don't know if this is THE way to go but for me it works brilliant and no restrictions or hick up's in the flow lines and an very easy going low resistance on fuel flow!

Use the felt! We do high flow standard weighted clunks for tanks that are ideally shaped and don't require the fuel to be held. The Flash tanks are not and should use the felt...its the whole idea of the design! It works great with felt as all my Flash models over 7 years.
Dave
ED you will end up with a tonne of air in your header (with paper filter) or short flights.

Done, so now it's, Dave's ball look-a-like big bore no felt in the saddles, big bore Felt one in the main! Hope this is the way to go then?
Don't got the felt ones for the saddles unfortunately but isn't it so that the air from the saddles will be trapped in the main now??
Thanks for the heads up!

That will work OK, like you say the main tank will work like a hopper till all the fuel is drained from the saddles in various figures flown.
The idea of the free flowing felt clunks was so that can go in each tank, but what you have now should work great. Last thing for you, did you throw the junk Festo clear/blue filter JM supply away? Seen so many leak and cause flame outs!
