RE: L 29 Delfin Race Jet
Beautiful! Very similar door setup as the C-arf MIG-15 again.....maybe a bit easier on this L29?
(I spent hours on my MIG, and even so I am still not 100% satisfied...)

RE: L 29 Delfin Race Jet
the carbon fiber gear panel are in kit.. but they are not pre cut.. you must to find right shape
you can take inspiration from various full size L-29 photo but in the model the gear vane are mirrored (not scale)

Looking good.. Do you think the air pressure in flight acting on the door will cause difficulties for the retract?
I am following with great interest, as I have now paid for my L29, and hopefully it will be shipped from Germany this week

Looking nice !
I have received my L29 as well, and have started the mental planning of how I want to arrange things... very handy to watch your solutions
(I might cpoy a things or three )

Thanks for posting your build photos: will be really useful when I get on with my L-29.
What retracts, legs and wheels did you use for the mains?

Ok then..
the L29 is in my garage now, and I have started the build Thanks to Chrigui, I had already some idea of what to expect...thank you!
I went with dual cylinders on the front nose wheel door, as I could not get it to close straight using only one. The main gear doors are in three pieces,
and I need to drill and tap the struts to accommodate the "middle" doors. I guess there will be some fiddeling to get them adjusted
Here are some pics of my progress so far:

Thanks
This model is so much easier to work with (so far...) compared to the my Carf Mig. I drilled and tapped (3mm) the struts, and landing gear/doors is now almost complete on the left side. I need to secure the inner door hinges with 2mm screws and nuts..

Some more progress..
I decided to redo the rear nose wheel door hinges, to get a few degrees more when opened. Not fully scale I am afraid, but good enough for me
All servoes installed, and the fit is really nice. The rudder servo hook up the the rudder is especially nice
The landing gear/doors/sylinders are mounted and adjusted, and work perfectly. I have the retracts/struts/wheels and brakes sold my Air-C-Race.
Canopy fit is good enough as is, but a few moments of attention will make it even better. The canopy is made of thick and sturdy plastic, much thicker than on my other jet models. Some may not like it, but I love it! I used the Dremel cutting disc and it took 5 mins to cut it free.
The model is 1:4,5 scale, and my 1:5 pilot fits good enough I think.

Couple of pictures.. I plan to make a "scale-ish" cockpit, and therefor need space in....the cockpit
I have lowered the tray to accomodate room for the pilot, who will suffer from amputation of his legs from the knee. I will construction the cockpit from scratch.
Because of this, I have limited space in the cocpit area, and had to build a platform for the ecu and valves on top (well actually bottom) of the inlet ducts. While I was doing this, I
strenghtened the ducts with carbon and epoxy.

RE: L 29 Delfin Race Jet
As I have not decided what colour scheme to go for yet, I used some vinyl (thin plastic film) as a TEMPORARY solution to get better visual orientation on the maiden flight...
I have both the under wing- and wing tip tanks, but will most likely maiden without them.
The vinyl is easily peeled of when I eventually figure out my final scheme. I made a tray for my 3s5000mAh ECU battery as far foreward as I could to get the CG right. Under the nose
tray I have 2x 2s5000mAh for the Powerbox, which should be way more than neccessary. Better to add mAh than lead
