Default fuel tanks

Dave,

I used a 2L soda bottle and fit a 24oz down on the fuse floor along side the bottle feeding a UAT. With my 120 i had a 9min clock with plenty of reserve.

> Todd, looks like this weekend is going to be rained out hope not but that’s what the weather man is stating . Would love to get my hands on that little Facet you got any ways hope to se yea if weather permits.... hehehe

> Vincent, I should get a minimum of 8 1/3 minutes of flight time if I were to fly at full throttle. So I can see getting plenty of flight time out of this tank.

What did you use to hang the sidewinder missiles? Are they removable and if so..how are they retained on the missile rail. Your aircraft looks fantastic by the way……

well got the inlets modified and just sitting in there. there are some fine adjustments needed but fits to the tank nicely and the tank sets right in the CG. so the CG will not change during flight.

Engine mount curing with aeropoxy wish this were faster, oh well at least I will get a very strong bond here. Got football coaching today so maybe later tonight it will have cured enough to work on.

Hope this helps anyone that gets an Mirage because there is very little help in the documentation. But this is a great airframe and strength wise it’s just purely thought out well.

nose wheels are BVM's too and looks better than the plastic ones that are offered with this kit.

Nice to see Dave Fusinato finally getting the props he deserves as the builder of Jetflyers Mirage.
Never saw that mentioned on the F-15, even when congrats we're being dished out on such an awesome model.
Finally.

I'd do some reading before making such statement on the 15 and probably the twin 18, than you can come at me if that's the case

Sunday I took out the Mirage for some ground runs and every thing went well. My new propane tank worked great I use a CO cartrage with a festo and it hold enouf for a couple starts, It fired right up the first time with no problem. I ran the Mirage up and down the runway to beak in the brakes and get the traking streight all went well except stearing is tuchie just needs more expo setup.

That's a great looking plane!!! IT is baby use rudder? I was looking AD web site and it seems that does not use rudder. I have a friend that have one but he doesn't fly it just because a missing rudder. It is easy to make then in this plane? and What AMA said about turbine planes without rudders? [sm=bananahead.gif] Any idea to help my friend fly his mirage!!! He can't go strait with cross winds with this one HA,HA

The AD Mirage does not have a factory rudder. I cut in a smaller than scale rudder and used a voltz wing servo that is mounted in the stab to drive it. The jet does not need a rudder for general scale flying but the AMA says we need one so that is why i installed one otherwise i would not have.

Well I have done some more mods. I have seamed the ailevons all together and have added a stud to the main struts. Now all I have to do is undo a lock nut and not have to worry about striping the threads in the strut to attach the connector rod. I have also installed the refueling prob it really makes the jet look awsome IMO.

The Facet 1200 is on the way now..........

Yes, the bright pinkish orange decals are for the test flights to work out all the bugs before she gets the scale colors. It will look like Jetflyer 24 with a tiger on the side and tiget stipe on the tail.

Todd, Could you post the video on your web site and leave a like here so I can download the flight of the Mirage. Guys she flew great and took off with authority, but got more bugs to kill like the Hi-tech Digital Servos, I tell you they are just not worth a damn any more the do not hold. I have 2 servos on each elevon and I can move them back and fourth about 70mm at full deflection so I am 86ing them and going with 2 JR8611's.

Dave,
Here's the video. Quality sucks (first time I have converted video for web) and I will redo it tomorrow in higher resolution.

Mirage flew OK, I was very uncomfortable with both pitch and roll. Felt very mushy/spongy. Hitec servos were experinceing blowback and poor centering. You can see this in the video. Stop screwing around and BUY JR SERVOS DAVE!
Video is here [link=http://www.lov2flyrc.com/video/mirage.wmv]Mirage Maiden[/link]
Congrats on the sucessful maiden, I need a drink [sm=eek.gif]

Video needs some tweaking but flight looked good except for the mushy/spongy controls and landing nose gear not locking. Next flight should be flawless. Have already made a template for the other gear door, should have that made in a few days. Thanks Todd for all your support and help...
