Mike:

Before this "he said - he said" gets too far off center line, I (Jet Central USA/Eric Clapp) placed the order in good faith with RCI prior to receiving funds from my customer. . .normal as i totally trust his word. I received the invoice from Jeff (no longer with RCI) which I sent my company check attached and returned to RCI. By bank records, my check was deposited and cleared on the 14th of October. I however was told the order had already been placed.
During the days preceding the cashing of my payment in full check to RCI, repeat discussions were held with Jeff regarding the delivery date as well as the personal request of Mike regarding the elimination of all graphics on the Coors Silver Bullet paint scheme. After Jeff's departure, I could find nothing in the way of information from RCI about this order. At that point, I commenced email communication with John and Anton. The latest being "it (BD-5)" would come out of paint and be shipped prior to the Chinese New Year. I forwarded all communication to my customer to keep him informed. However, we are still far past the 8 week delivery date i received from Jeff while employed by RCI. while this is a frustrating issue, it is not new. We have seen time and time again, repeat reports of delays with Skymaster. . .while not good, I honestly feel it can be attributed to the quality kit Anton produces and the orders from around the world he receives. In closing, I ordered two 2M Vipers which arrived long overdue. Was the wait worth it. . .absolutely as this jet is by far the best flying model I have had the privelage of owning/flying.

Happy new year to all. . .

Eric

Hi Mike,

Must be xtremely frustrating and sorry to hear. Just checked the records here at Skymaster. You have placed the order with Eric Clapp. The Eric Clapp placed the order with RCI. We only knew about order on the 19th October. We only received some payment on the 5th of December.

So it seems there is a communication problem between the individuals. Your BD5 will be ready in January for shipment.I will keep you informed...

Regards

Morne

IMO anytime an order is received for a kit but no payment then after two weeks Skymaster should notfiy the dealer that placed the order along with the customer.
I see no reason for kit orders made in OCT not being started or notfcation as status of the order being made in late DEC.
How do you know the dealer wasn't notified by Skymaster? Skymaster would not know who the customer is if the order was placed through a dealer. Interesting that this subject has come up as I've had concerns about ordering through some of these dealers. Obviously, BVM is a reputable company but, many of these "dealers" are one man shows who offer a discounted price and want full payment up front.

You are taking your chances when and if they actually send Skymaster the money. Times are tough, what if they go belly up before doing so? Then you're going to blame Skymaster. I think you are better off to pay full price and go through a reputable dealer ( not that the ones mentioned are not) . I recall threads on RCU a year or 2 ago when the Fei Bao dealer took money from customers and (according to Fei Bao) didn't pay for the planes.

Mike

I thought the kits were shipped direct from the factory to the cust that means the factory knows who the cust is and if not they to insure they do.

Try FeiBao they are quick with shipments and there kits a very good. I had FEJ and it was bad. The air cylinders, retracts, pistons all leaked. FeiBao all retracts, cylinders, wheels are solid no leaks very impressed. The other thing is no middle man straight from the factory! That’s how Skymaster/X-treme jets used to be. I did business with Anton straight before and never had a problem. Now you got to go thru middle man and there are many. I don't know about the rest of you but if they keep doing that I am not going give them my money up front! Try FeiBao they are quick with shipments and there kits a very good.

I hope they get it shipped before their New Year celebration.

If your bored I have a 2M Viper that need to be assembled... I'm sure you can get it done in 4 weeks working in your spare time and it won't interfere with your BD-5 project [X(] LOL

Ok I finally got straight on what happened on my plane. My salesman -Eric From Jet Central USA- did everything proper as I knew He would.

The Skymaster dealer he went through had a change in personal and my order got lost/delayed in the shuffle. An unusual occurance, but it happened and it delayed things. Eric stayed on top of it with the dealer and Skymaster and they got it straightened out.

I had no business ranting as I did and accusing Skymaster of not caring about my order. I got caught up in the conversation and spoke out before knowing the real facts. On the internet, one can be all he wants to be, and sometimes that ain't a good thing.

I apologize to Skymaster. You guys can't make make something you don't have an order for.

On a much more positive note: Eric let me know that John at Skymaster sent him a picture of the plane and notice that it is ready to ship. I'm excited again and the delays are pretty much a non issue now to me.

I'm happy again.
Take care.
Mike

Actually, Im in a rush now, lol. I have to drop the cheetha and exhuast back in the F15. Finish the Flash gear doors and drop the servos in the rudder and wings and set throws by friday. Glad I have a 5 day weekend starting on wednesday. I have a feeling when the BD gets here, the other winter projects might not get finished untill the day before I want to fly them.

BVM and NMorne said hopefully today or tommorrow I should have a tracking number (I heard they get the tracking number after it was shipped)

Not mine, I just double checked and my tracking info is coming via FED EX. At this point I don't care if it comes by carrier pigeon, I am just ready to get on it.
