Default Futura 2.5M in BMW Williams scheme

I have been looking at the large Futura from Tomahawk the last two years at JetPower, the first year I put my eyes on it, well, I didn't think it looked too nice....
The colors it was presented in didn't exactly fit my taste

So, when Ali and Duncan did the first ones in Vinyl (Martini and Audi scheme), I loved it! Suddenly the plane looked very nice, and I ordered one at JetPower last year.
My plan was to cover it myself, just doing some simple stripes etc etc. However, I discovered that there were talk of some BMW motorsports scheme, and talking a little with Ali and Duncan, my plane took a detour on the route from Germany to Denmark, and is currently in the talented hands of Duncan ! Duncan has sent me some pictures of the plane, and I'm a VERY happy man now I think it looks very nice!

PS: Thanks Ali and Duncan for doing this, you guys are some of the best [8D]

Certainly a good scheme does turn what I used to consider a sow's ear into a silk purse, that does look good, look forward to seeing the whole airframe.

Mike

P.S. Duncan in case you had not noticed one of your sockets has fallen off the wall.

Carsten,

Nice mate!! I'm visiting Duncan for the day on the 26th Feb to drop my scheme on my 2.5m Futura. Hopefully, it'll look as good as yours does (shut up Al!) What turbine you fitting, P200 or 160?

@Duncan, is that a slightly matt canopy vinyl?

Rgds,
Mark

Glad you like it. Yep the canopy is a silk finish vinyl (they call it matt but it has a shene to it) I've been wanting to try it for a canopy for a while but Ali wasn't convinced. I really like the finish it gives.

There is still quite a way to go on Carsten's Futura, this is easily the hardest scheme to lay down so far, The other side of the model, underneath, wings, stabs and rudder still to go but hoping to have a day on it on saturday.

Marc, no worries what kind of thing are you after?

BTW Carsten, I need to thank you for supplying me a spare aileron cover LOL. I'm sure a replacement will turn up before you need it.

Did ya get my mail re the UF and Anders?

Pop over to Bickley Jets in June with the big canoe. At this rate we could have a Futura slot......

Cheers,
Mark

Shame on you Now you have to install all my servos for me, what address should I send them to [:-]
Yep, got the email, he is still thinking. Sverrir told me he was thinking (originally) of bringing the orange monster with him in a box, guess it would be suspecious if I brought the Futura with me in a coffin on the plane
But, it could be fun, seems like you guys have a great time there!

Send 'em over - no guarantee they'll end up in your model though!

Hey, how about Sverrir puts the orange monster inside the Futura and you split the shipping costs

Sverrir has a Futura of his own to take back with him, so i think the Orange Peril will be staying at home (especially as he has sold it lol)

That looks so much better than the concept drawing, nice job Duncan and congrats Carsten! I'll see you at Bickley for the Futura fly-in Carsten!

I'm not sure I'd hire you as my travel agent Mark but the idea is nice although it would be a bit out of my way to go to Denmark to pick up Carsten.
Carsten I'm sure that a 2.8 meter long coffin would raise most eyebrows even before people could see inside it.

I'm sad to say that my(former) Orange won't be visiting with me this season... hmmm I could bring the old fuselage and return it to Henry!

Can any of you "Futura owners" tell me the size of the wheels (both main and nose) that comes with the retracts from Tomahawk ?
